Vpns knowledge and false positives

Already stated who a VPN keeps me safe from. Thanks for your input but I’ll stick to advice I know is correct and trustworthy. I have no intention of discussing this further with you. As stated originally this has been discussed here ad nauseum. Use the search.

Don’t bite Miki, it’s Easter!

Good morning my friend @AJS1 A very happy easter to you and your family. Always nice to see you.

Happy Easter @Miki to you and your family!

Depends on your internet provider/cable company. I have been streaming for over 6 years without a VPN and in the past when I was with Spectrum in the rare case I needed to download a movie I received the email notice. Now I am with AT&T Fiber and have downloaded movies/shows without a VPN and no letters.

I watch movies, tv shows, and sports…
I have never used a vpn on my streaming boxes…
I don’t download something I can watch anytime I want to, or save movies from the internet…
20 years ago I did when it was the only way to get access before release, but not anymore…
No one can totally hide their information from those guarding it…
Your bandwidth usage will always pop up, just like those that used to grow weed in their apartments.
Their electric bill betrayed them as well as their heat source…

Just my opinion…
But like I said, to each their own…

Thanks for your input…

Happy Easter everybody. Per the DMCA policy it is up to the copyright holder who believes they’ve been infringed on to send the documentation to the ISP to notice the violator. The reason the copyright holder does not send it directly to you it is because the ISP legally cannot provide your information to them due to privacy laws. That is why you receive it from ISP instead of the copyright holder such as Paramount movies, nbc, CBS whoever. No I’m not an expert I just kind of read up a little bit about it to get an idea how it works. You also noticed that it is this websites DMCA policy.
Please read the following information it has some FAQs on the subject matter I do not endorse it I just read a little bit about it and it’s for educational purposes only. If you’re lucky enough to be able to download watch whatever you want without a notice good for you. I have received notices myself. So that is the reason for the VPN so we don’t receive the notice. I hope this answers your question once and for all. The VPN is so we do not who have received notices do not receive any more notices. If you don’t receive one good for you.

Ahh it just goes to show the lack of knowledge. How this only became about downloading is beyond me. That is such a very small, and I mean small, part of why I use a VPN. It’s all in my posts. Read, comprehend and research, but above all:
Have fun and STREAM ON!!

@ Pez149 Can someone tell me the purpose for using a vpn to stream movies, tv shows, and sports?
Especially if sites can tell if you are using one?
Just asking

I answered his question about downloading and VPN

I like Proton, been a user for about 4 years.
Express VPN was my go to VPN but I found I was having connection issues with them so I tried Proton it works well with all our devices.

Actually, as a novice who has utilized a few VPN’s over the years, I feel quite secure with PIA(private internet access) since I haven’t encountered any issues in the past 7 years. Correction,I’ve encountered only one issue during this time frame.
It involved the setup process for a television that wasn’t/isn’t a smart tv. After contacting their support team, we were able to install and move on.
Otherwise, the app itself is fairly simple to use for those of us not technically inclined.I believe after researching other VPN’s, PIA was simply the most economical while providing all the features I find useful for all 4 of my home tv’s and numerous wireless devices.
Hope this helps provide a reliable source of info.

welcome

Welcome! Have they implemented a kill switch in their Android TVOS yet?

Proton has been working great for me. The only thing I wish they had was auto connect as well as a kill switch. They’re always adding and improving so hopefully soon

The big problem is that those options are available on say your phone or tablet, but not on streaming devices, where the options are virtually non existent. I’ve complained about this for years. They don’t care. This on my Pixel Tablet

They call it “always on”.

I know it’s on other devices but I’d like to see it on Android TVOS

Well you can do, as I did, and send them a complaint every month. All you’ll get is the corporate BS that “We are looking into this. Unfortunately we have no timeline for a solution.” They won’t implement anything users suggest, only what their team members think is needed.

I post suggestions and vote on their uservoice site as well

Sorry uservoice site?

This is what I’m talking about @Miki
