Any thoughts on AM7 and Ut8 plastic vs metal housing and heat dissipation?

It depends on the model of the box. I have an AM6 B Plus, which is an upper end Ugoos model and it has a metal box. I would imagine the less expensive or âbudgetâ boxes would be enclosed in plastic.

You will like it after you get it set up. I installed the wolf launcher to kinda cool everything down so I could get a handle on everything. Sounds like you know what you want and have researched it well. Have fun

Lots of research. But am really impressed with the you tube reviews. It doesnât come with otg cable. But I have a couple anyway.
Canât wait to compare it to my minix boxes u22xj and u22xj max. Be interesting to see how the rockchip performs against the S922.

Does the Wolf Launcher have those button icons as a feature to load on your home screen, or is that a player feature?

No, I make the pics with gimp and then import them to the internal storage of the box into a folder under picture I call Wolf_pics. Then in wolf I long press on the current pic of an app go to configure and set it up from there. Hers one im testing a new pic. Trying out dif colors etcâŚ

its what I do to kill time 
just make sure to set a wolf folder so you can keep up with all the picsâŚand there will be many because as soon as you get one all set up you will thinkâŚhmmm I coulda done that better

as you can see here I changed my mind on name plate style
Ive tried doing this on the stock ugoos launcher and havent had much successâŚneed to prop the hood up and dig a little deeper into the configs.

Still didnât finish my am7 thought it was my hot water heater but now that is ok but I have a leak under the slab and have to do a whole house repipe for the cost of 12thousand dollar. So I am glad I brought my am7 and the ut8 when I did because I wonât be able to afford to sneeze for a while

So far so good with the UT-8 box. No real issues other than I for whatever reason lost control with both my remotes and couldnt figure out what caused it but I had been switching launchers back and forth trying different configs when it âlocked upâ. Only remedy that worked was up-plugging the box for about 30 seconds and that fixed it. Just pushing the power button wouldnt fix it as it just booted to the locked screen. So im pretty sure any problems that ive had so far I created it ⌠all in all very smooth operation. I was monitoring bandwidth last night and it seemed this box was more constant and didnt see any surging of bandwidth like I do with the mecool or other boxes. Lets just say this box purrrrrs and is cool with no heat issues. My only real complaint is the stock remote. You need to be close for it to work and even then sometimes its out to lunchâŚlucky for me I also picked up the air mouse/remote and it works perfect and that pointer comes in handy with the ustvgo247 app etc. I have a 2.4 unifying receiver coming today so I can also use my pc mouse without bluetooth.
All in all, Great box and highly recommend. I will post in a new thread if other issues arrise due to this thread closing soon.

Now that is a nice background that is something I will look into nice job. I just got notified today that my ut8 is out for delivery woohoo 
. I have a 56 Chevy like to put something like that on mine. Just got done talking with plumbing contractor and will be starting a whole house repipe tomorrow morning at 7 am so I have to get things ready for them so no playing with the boxes are in my future till the middle to end of next week 
unless I can work something in this weekend. But nice job on the launcher I imagine it is wolf?
Well I quickly discovered âout for deliveryâ actually means its somewhere in the United States ⌠So you have plenty of time to remedy the plumbing issues.
