Line of sight you really have to be pointed right at it and just doesn’t work very well. But definitely not a deal breaker just got a air mouse and keyboard working great

I ordered the airmouse they had on the page that was optional but I believe it was only 8-10 bucks and figured most likely cheaper now than later and the boats are real slow.
My X4-pro is due today.
Also for tivimate users, You will be able to add the companion app to the box if you want.

I just got the one that Troy recommended in his review just arrived but now my hot water heater just went and have a flood in the garage I tell I can’t win

By the way does the logo on the ut8 light up like the the am7 green when it’s on and blue when off it stays blue all the time when off is that the way your is
Just one green led to indicate on, havent seen a blue
the logo doesnt light up like on the am7. Its easier to implement that feature with plastic shell.
The X4-Pro arrived today…no telling when I will get to check it out as im still diggin’ into the UT-8

My whole ugoos lights up green when it’s on and then blue when off but the blue light never goes off I was wondering if that is normal for that 
not sure but my one green led stays on even when off unless I push the button on the side to kill everything. Remember the box is active even when not in use for updating, recording etc.

Did not know that didn’t see anything like that in that great manual that came with where did you find that out. That’s the only thing I don’t like about it is if you don’t know already you have to stumble on it by playing around with it and hopefully you don’t screw something up in the meantime well least that’s solved on to the next quest. Posting this in the wrong place off track but still need power supply hahahaha
actually thats true with most boxes. If you were to turn it off completely then scheduled programs would not record. Unless you have updates turned off the same here. I keep logged out of google because of this because I prefer to update as I see fit.

just guessing here, but many boxes will let you turn off the leds…somewhere in the settings???

There is much to be said about a good streaming machine, pure bliss 
This ugoos is pretty much tuned up and roaring. It runs cool. No issues that cant be fixed so far and NO more android tv boxes for me. Stock android without the bloat is super nice and doing as I please is a nice thing. Im sure google will try to mess it up because its what big tech does. But for now I am set.

Agreed. I have always used stock android boxes. I did try out an Android TV box after a review from Troy. But, it just didn’t perform or suit my simple needs.
I did ask Troy recently on this forum why he favoured reviewing android TV boxes and had moved away from stock android. And, to his credit he explained his rationale.
Now, I see he has done the AM7 review. I’ m sure that this is purely coincidental. Good to see that they offer OTA updates.
No, that is not said tongue in cheek. I am an avid Troy follower and without his newsletters and excellent, easy to understand technical information, I would still be fumbling in the dark.
I am just debating the pros and cons of the AM7 vs UT 8.

Not much difference except the ut8 has more storage everything else is pretty much the same
