Same here on both counts.
Had a literal Ugoos marathon going on here for the last 2 days.
I have to say, everything works exceptionally well. The one issue I have is with the Weyd app, I have it working but it’s very buggy. It freezes sometimes and the app doesn’t always display properly like all of a sudden I’ll play something and the video doesn’t fit the screen right and my flashing monitor dot is about half visible. So then I stop and start again and then it will display properly and this happens sporadically. Also alot of links have no sound with built in player but work when using mx player. I’m just wondering if you’ve ever tried Weyd on the ut8 and if you have do you have any suggestions or is this just not compatible on that os?
Also when the page with the links start to populate it looks cut off.
Sorry @PapaS but i’m no help with weyd as i’ve never used it.
Thanks and I think I got it figured out. It was buggy wifi.
After I connected to Ethernet every little funky issue was magically resolved. This truly is the beast I was looking for.
Had my 1st update this morning and so far all is well. Ugoos rarely pushes updates so when they do I tend to take notice and get the update.
@PapaS confirmed UT8 has system picker for Tivimate but does the AM8 have it ? I’m looking at one of these Ugoos beasts. Thanks
I believe it does. Its stock so most anything can be done.
I can confirm that the AM8 has the system picker. I popped in a SanDisk 256GB USB 3.0 drive, and used the system picker to create my Tivimate recording folder on it. Works great.

Thanks for response ! Makes me wanna get the AM8. How do you like it? Do you have it flashed to ATV or stock Android ?
I left mine alone and it works for me.
But, I only use it for streaming.
I use it daily for Tivimate and Stremio, not one issue.
I’m very happy with the AM8. Nice build quality. Runs cool. It’s stock Android 11, which works fine for me. Has access to Google Play. 4K streaming on Kodi with the Diggz Xenon build is very smooth, as is IPTV with Tivimate. I pass audio through to my AV receiver, so I can’t speak to the AM8’s audio capabilities. Price makes it more of a luxury item, but performance and quality make it worth the premium price to me.
Just purchased the AM8 Thanks for reply’s on choosing. Now I wait
@TXRon I like what I see from Ugoos. If one does not use it for gaming, just streaming apps and IPTV, what is your opinion of the Ugoos X4 as it comes with 32, 64, or 128 gb storage and 4gb RAM? Cost for the X4 is about half that of the new AM8 with the impressive specs.
Ugoos x3 and x4 boxes actually work quite well and they are x905 boxes so similar to most every box like formuler and buzz boxes but vvvvery stock in comparison. Ugoos doesnt seek a google stamp of approval for any of their boxes and therefore most are fully open with root avail. I have 2 X4’s and 2 X3’s and only an x4 is in service being a always on weather station and police scanner. I do prefer the AM8 over any other box ive ever tried with the UT8(rockchip) the most powerful. The AM8 is my daily box with the shield as my backup.
This is what I’m going for AM8 daily and Shield Pro as backup.
Good choice. Enjoy
Switch the order around.
I’ve had my AM8 for a little while now, running the 1.3.2 firmware. It’s lightning fast but I am having some problems with the auto frame rate function. To me this is the most important feature of any device because I watch content in a variety of frame rates regularly.
With AFR enabled on the box, and Tivimate open, it’ll switch fine on the first attempt from say a 50 FPS video to a 60 FPS video. However, when switching back to 50 FPS (or any other frame rate) it won’t switch. The video will be very choppy, like it’s playing in a very low frame rate. The only fix is to restart the device.
When I turn AFR off on the box settings, and let Tivimate handle AFR instead, switching works perfectly with no ongoing frame rate problem.
I’ve tried fiddling with every AFR setting on the box to see if I can fix this but it doesn’t work. It will never display video properly after the first frame rate switch without a hard reset of the device.
For now I will leave it off, and let Tivimate handle AFR switching, but it would be useful for the device to handle it for when I watch YouTube and other video apps without AFR built into the software.
I should say my Buzztv XRS4900 handles this perfectly but perhaps has the benefit of being nearly 3 years old with well established firmware.
