šŸ›‘ TorBox Changes Their Terms of Service & Users Aren't Happy

Morning Miki,

So, you just went ahead and deleted your account?

Yes I did. Clowns running it don’t amuse me. So going to move on. Not a big deal for me. I jave a 3 yrs PM sub.

Damn see what happens when you piss off @Miki Troypoint kicks Torbox to the curb!

Too funny, I’m not even thinking about that $36 loss. Guess, no sense in waiting to delete my account. :slightly_smiling_face::slightly_smiling_face::slightly_smiling_face:

I wish I had that much influence on things. But now I know you think I do @SoloWarrior .

When these debrid/seedbox services started years ago the main reason was to use them as a private middleman for your torrent downloading. This is nuts!

Torbox has basically said that if ACE or authorities come knocking, here’s the user ip address, email, and billing address of the person who downloaded the file.

I’ve cancelled my account and will move onto Premiumize. Big deal it’s 40 bucks more per year but I still get everything I want to see. $7 per month and Netflix is what $25 now with 1/10th of the content?

You know that saying ā€œwhen someone tells you who they are, believe themā€? Well, that’s Torbox. Never super-reliable, incorporated in the UAE, sold in the middle of the night, re-wrote terms of agreement so that their legal team in Delaware could prosecute everyone except for them. You have been given fair warning.

Unfortunately, in the case of Premiumize, it may be a case of:

Im no going to pass to quick of a judgment. I don’t like the TOS change. But if the company has to move it’s base location and in that area they are kinda forced to do this… Then the terms of service change would reflect that to keep from being sued by users.

Again not ideal but do remember we all used real debrid for years. And it was the best option and they would have done the same and had it in there TOS as well.

On the other hand I can’t say anything bad about premiumize I use it every day. I am not a fan of their point based model though. I would much rather them do like real debrid and lock account down to IP connection linked to 1 per active use. This did good for real debrid.
I don’t personally have a problem with the cap but I generally only download movies 10gb or less and shows 5gb or less… But you are limited… If your constantly playing 50gb files u will hit that limit.

I was really wanting to see TorBox come out on top of this real debrid situation. As I think they had the best overall service model. That may not be the case tho.. we will have to see.

I do think it’s good to bring light to this maybe it will redirect them… I doubt they will walk back the TOS change. But, here’s hoping. I would assume lawyers said they should to cover their own butts. Just a hunch.

How long does utop.us take for premiumize voucher, has anyone had experience with ordering there? BTC xfer is confirmed

Think I’ll stick with TB until Black Friday to see if there are any good deals available.

(Or until TB runs dry)

I’m certain they already have enough data on me. And cancelling the account wouldn’t hide anything if they passed on the data as they keep the full history.

I was just thinking. I have never heard of anyone ever getting busted for using a Debrid account. that I can think of. I’ve been going though these forums for years an never read about the law threatening any body. I know you should never say never but to date never heard of anybody. Have any of you?

100% that is my stance on this and until someone gets busted for using Torbox or the streams stop working I’m gonna keep on keeping on

These Debrid services have been in business a good 10 years or longer an never heard of anybody ever getting busted. If they did we wouldl have all heard about it by now.

Agree 100% with you but like I said above the main reason people have used these in the beginning was for a private middleman to download torrents. Now they are more popular because of streaming boxes more people are using them and now they have new terms where they have shifted liability to user. I don’t think we would have ever seen this if streaming boxes weren’t a thing.

ā€œI’m gonna ride it…All Night longā€

Torbox will be dead box before long.

Premiumize is expensive compared to TorBox, but so far so good on a year subscription using reseller voucher…
