Yesterday, I received the following email from TorBox. Subject: TorBox Terms and Conditions Change Notification of Terms Hello, we are sending you an email to let you know that the TorBox Policies have changed. Please review the updated Policies to ensure that you are aware of the changes. If you no longer wish to use…
I received an email from Torbox this morning about changes to their terms of service. The email was sent to the anonymous email address used when I signed up for the service and subsequently forwarded to my Proton Mail.
In reading the terms of service, it was evident that any personal information one would allow to be shared with Torbox would be provided to legal authorities or others providing proper documentation regarding copyright infringement.
One should insure a solid VPN such as Surfshark or IPvanish is used when linking to a debrid or torrent service.
It doesn’t look good for those using torbox now.
Yeah I mean this is not ideal but have you actually ever heard of an end user getting busted for using a debrid service to stream content?
I may be one of the least paranoid folks here but not gonna get my panties in a wad over something like this. As @Miki likes to say “Stream ONN” (see what I did there
)
We will have to wait and see. If it does go the way of RD then I’ll be disappointed after many of us promoted this service which boosted their sales tremendously only to become useless. But lets not put the cart before the horse.

I’m not really concerned about the getting in trouble part as I am having no working links. That was one reason I switched from AD, to RD, to TB. Links became less and less first with AD, then RD, and now possibly TB. I mean there are other alternatives with iptv providers that offer vod services, but I sure hate to see TB go down the path of AD and RD.
So what does this mean to me specifically, if I am using a VPN? Isn’t my IP address encrypted?
Nevermind, I think that I figured it out. Since I personally have a Torbox account and request a stream then my info is stored on the Torbox data base.
Therein lies the rub!

Torbox is dead to me! I just deleted my account. You can’t trust a company who will handle your info over to authorities.
What will you be using in its place?
Was thinking about getting it. No way now.
That is so interesting because I did not get an email at all about this. I just renewed for another month like 5 days ago.
Deleted. Going back Premiumize. Anyone to share experiences with AD will be appreciated
Agree with you Miki, just wait and see what happens before anyone jumpset conclusions.
Just paid the $33 or whatever it was a month ago. I’m getting to the point I may just do what a bunch of my coworkers did and buy the preloaded box. However, I do like the tech side of things and setting things up myself. I don’t like this whole new issue, however like some people said…When has a US bases user been fined, etc.? I have seen where other countries go after the users. Will be checking into another service but for now I think I may just let it ride! HAHA
I’m so curious to what everyone else is going to do. Maybe someone can set up a poll? Staying for now? Leaving Immediately? or If Leaving going to use ______?
AD was actually one of the first ones to cave in to the DMCA, that was why I left them and went with RD, then wouldn’t you know they did the same thing, and now TB is apparently headed down the same path. To those jumping on the PM bandwagon I would advise not to spend to big, as there’s a good chance they will eventually cave to the DMCA as well.
