I realize that and Iām not complaining, just asking a question? As I have said, Iāve been in other forums and the discussions are all over the place? Iāve been told that canceling my TB account was an overreaction, was it? I, like many, listen to what Troy says and Iām just trying to get the best information possible.

Not Troy but I think cancelling your Torbox account definitely an overreaction. Iām still using it and plan to keep on using it as long as streams get delivered. BUT thatās me you gotta do whatās right for you
@azcoyotedog no worries in this community we do try to stay organized and respectful of others everyone here has opinions and we are all jokesters as well you need to take what you learn and apply it to your situation everybodyās is different. we may debate which is a rare thing these days. but as in life listen and learn. but always remember, what you have learned. 
as for Torbox I disabled in my addons but since that was all I have at the moment re-enabled on one of them for now. so if you look at things like this guy everything will be just fine LOL

SoloWarrior, this was just the point I was simply trying to make. If a person has a movie on their home pc and sends it to a friend, then the person that sends that movie could be in trouble. So, according to the article,The debrid service is storing a movie on their servers, and they are sending that movie to you. So the debrid service is truly the one that would be trouble.
I requested a refund and said the reason was due to the change in C and T after I subscribed and they sent a refund for the time I had left.
Itās true that the Debrid services have clouds that store content. Itās not exactly correct to say that they send content to you. You have to go digitally to get it.
Please bear with me. Iām just trying to get a full understanding of the process and where the debrid service benefits by stating that they are keeping logs on a user.

My best guess is that this is a CYA, for the service, If you get busted they would be able to defend against a lawsuit that a user might file for personal damages.
They are having copyrighted material downloaded to their servers and allowing them to be shared without the rights holders permission. When a DMCA takedown notice os issued then TorBox will have to remove it or face criminal prosecution. They are in fact allowing distribution of that material using their infrastructure which is illegal. The authorities wonāt bother with end users who stream said copyrighted material as ot isnāt illegal to do so for personal use as long as you arenāt recording it or redistributing it or downloading it to your own server and redistributing it for financial gain.
@JerryJ Yeah, the boilerplate statements regarding protecting their customers is horsesh!t. That said, a debrid service can correctly claim that there are very legitimate uses for their platformsā¦not a great analogy, but you might remember the content giants putting significant effort into trying to squash VCRs and even cassette recorders.

elginherd, You might not be old enough to remember Napster. Many were able to download a lot of music from that app. The only one that got nailed, in the end, was the the developer of that app. Far too many users to chase down and punish. And wasnāt there an app, about 10-15 years ago that had movies that you could watch on your home computer?
Ultimately, I would think that the biggest issue would be Joeās Bar, down the street showing the latest copyrighted material as entertainment for the clientele would be the target.
Honestly they wouldnāt know if you stream it for personal use or if you are downloading it to āprofitā from it. Torbox shows all cached streams you watch as āDownloadsā.

Well you might think not but now ppl are already receiving warnings that they are sharing their API Keys which is now strictly forbidden.
You shall not sell, rent, lease, transfer, sublicense, share, or provide access to your Account, API keys, access tokens, Service capacity, or paid features.
So where we use to share our API key with Friends and family you canāt. An acquaintance received a warning that they were sharing their API key with 8 others, which he was. They informed him that if this happens again his account will be in violation and suspended.

Well it seems you canāt even get a sensible answer from their help. They say no API sharing, then say they donāt track IP addresses and itās ok to share with family as long as it doesnāt violate their fair use. It sure seems itās a royal mess right now. Bought by a bunch of muppets so it seems.
I asked again to clarify sharing with different IP address confusion.

Yes, we informed that IPs may be tracked due to some third party services we use like CloudFlare requiring them, but we ourselves do not track nor limit IPs.

I didnāt mean to offend anyone when I was questioning the āCake Dayā statements. I just wasnāt sure what it meant.
I couldnāt remember seeing it before and definitely canāt remember when my joining anniversary was.
With regards to TB, Iām quite sure that there is a downloading element. I clicked a show recently and I saw it stating āadding web downloadā and indicating the length of time it would take to download.
I cancelled it but then It then asked if I wanted to continue to download it in the background. I clicked āNoā and then the show started.
Made me think that this was the first time that this show had been requested but I have no evidence to confirm this.
If you used an anonymous email, paid in crypto and use a VPN I would think you should be shielded from any data that was turned over being connected to you but most people myself included (Iāve deleted my account and gone back to PM) used a credit card to pay so my full name address and all of that would have been on their system and associated with my account along with, what they now say is basically a treasure trove of data, which is also retained indefinitely. In this case I wouldnāt think of VPN matters because anybody getting your account info would have your name address and such from your payment. All in one shopping for copyright infringement lawyers I would call it.

You are 100% correct in everything you are saying but I really think you and many others are overreacting here. They have not āturned any data over to anyoneā and merely changed their TOS. Until I see an issue where an actual end user gets busted for streaming itās a big nothing burger for me. (Not downloading streaming) (We talking bout practice! 
) . Nothing wrong with what you are doing you gotta do you but I am choosing to continue to use Torbox which continues to deliver great streams. If the streams stop coming Iāll stop using
