agree its what your happy with if it aint broke dont fix it ![]()
Sorta like buying a stock car and then adding stuff to it to expand it’s abilities. Little extras are pretty cheap. Ya I could use a stock 4K max stick, they’re pretty cheap, and just use it like that for $35. But add a powered OTG ethernet hub($15) with 3 USB ports and for cheap I can now expand storage($15), add a mini KB($15) for easier typing and web page maneuvering as well as expanding APP options, not to mention ethernet. Now I have a power setup for around $80 cdn.
The choice of equipment depends upon the needs of the user.
There’s no way that I would try a stock box on my wife’s TV. She has a couple of verified apps that she can’t live without. So she’s equipped with an ONN with adopted storage and the Wolf Launcher.
My daily driver is a stock box that was sold including a mini keyboard. The keyboard is very handy negotiating this box. IPV works on this box, but is very clunky. My one verified app that I need is ESPN, and that doesn’t operate at all. So I do use a MeCool KM1 for that.
Your definition of private information and general information may be different from other people or members.
You don’t care if everything you pay for works?
How about your car or any other piece of equipment you pay for?
But, like you said, to each their own.
Thanks for your input…
A remote shouldn’t be considered private…
Are you aware of what H cards or Dave and Charlie stand for?
If you did, you would know that certain codes were used, some public, some private…
I do thank you for your post though…
No I don’t. Have a nice day! ![]()
My T95 Boxes and remotes work perfect for me
It’s stuff from the beginning days of computing and has evolved into some of today’s tech. But ya very old. Not even sure if companies like IBM even use or rely on these relics of a bygone era. Maybe, but I have a hard enough time keeping up with todays diverse techs.
Oh the remote isn’t private and the info can be found using the site search. I mistakenly posted the patron link to Troy’s first impression info. But it’s there for everyone now.

Can you provide a direct link?
It would answer my question.
Thanks in advance…
Thank you…
Most sites were there to provide info and help to those that were less experienced and less knowledgeable…
Can you imagine what would happen if the creators of every apk decided to charge for their apk?
Thankfully we have never gotten to that point…
Being a patron is not paying for a service, it’s thanking for providing a service.
Bought one from TEMU. It worked but not well. The wifi connection was poor at half the speed of other devices. The ASSESSORIES setting fails which prevents a few tools from working. You can use a Bluetooth mouse with it. Tried to use TIVIMATE and could not record to local memory. Will stick with a ONN box.
Troy doesn’t have any Android Package Kits that I’m aware of. He just has a site. An expensive proposition these days. Most Devs are delighted when ppl support their Apps. I’ve personally paid for a lifetime sub of TiViMate, as an example. I’m also aware of thousands of Troypoint members who generously give a small amount of their hard earned money to show support and appreciation for App developers who spend countless hours developing a helpful app. Many Github members support developers through “buy me a coffee” links. It’s all voluntary and our way of being a bit generous. None of it is mandatory and by all means the choice is your own. On the rare occasion I have a few extra coins, in my pocket, I’ve even been known to give away streaming devices I no longer use or need, to the less fortunate, and paid for the shipping, it made me feel good. A philosophy worth embracing in this world IMHO.
Turns out you can program the remote for your tv. Here is the link to YouTube video. Instead of programming source button to source button on tv remote, I programmed it to the power button on tv.
Thanks for your reply.
I’m old school where we believed that public information should be free…
I have no problem donating funds to help support the site…
Oh I agree completely but the the debate now is what is “Public” information. Thank you for this discussion and I appreciate your input, but this thread has been diverted from it’s original intent. While I appreciate the tete a tete, and please do not be offended, but this begins to bore me. Have a good day. Oh and sorry I didn’t mean to ignore your request for a direct link, but anyone with personal experience with H cards, and Dave and Charlie embraces the fact that true advancement comes from personal searching to discover the answers to their questions, and far be it from me to impede your site learning. I’m sure, after so many years in this hobby, you have become exceedingly adept at searching. Have a good day.
Not a problem…
I hope we can continue to discuss streaming and all it entails in the future…
Have a blessed day…
Did you ever get your remote to work on the tv?
