So I’ve tried stremio years ago!!! Just to much to add add-ons .but like Troy mentioned it’s a back up for me. Because they made it so easy to set up Nothing like it was .and most of all download apk and sign in .Wish Kodi had that. But Kodi is still go to,so much more can be done. If Kodi loses fitz, umbrella crew. It’s beginning of the end. Just lost c man (rip) .sad year thanks to all the developers for their time patiend and generosity.
I have no idea how anyone can be having trouble with add-ons. It doesn’t get any simpler. Locate the addon you want and click install. That’s hard?. Even if you want to do advanced setup like adding a Debrid key you’re given link to click and go to the debrid service to get the API key to copy and paste into the configuration then simply click the install link. Kodi involves a whole bunch more effort with tons of typing and clicking. Repos come and go quicker than my pension cheque. The bootstrapper even takes it to the next level with a simpler pre configured install available. Just do the reading and follow Troy’s instructions.
Actually KODI is very easy @Miki with minimal data entry. And depending on the dev some addons can now be installed through downloader. But for most addons it is typing in one short URL/String then a few more steps and the addon is installed. Then you simply authorize a debrid service and Trakt if using. Maybe cuz I’ve probably installed well over 100 times in the past 10 years it’s like tying my shoes
Oh I’m not saying it’s difficult, but being real it isn’t easier than Stremio addons to configure. Stremio doesn’t need repos, or typing in anything at all, and doesn’t need to be entered on every single device you have. One configuration, stored in the cloud and voila, done. You’re a Kodi fan and I respect that. I, on the other hand, am not, and even retrying every couple of years Kodi hasn’t advanced in ease of use or setup IMHO. We both have what we want and need and that is all that matters.
Have I told you lately that I love you?
turned on my tv last week and boom…Kodi gone, nothing… AND Surfshark! Panic for sure. Reinstalled both but I literally cannot navigate my way through Kodi to add Umbrella which I loved. Voila, your last email had the instructions I needed to be back in business!! Also loaded Stremio but I’m not so impressed as I was hoping for more live channels. At any rate, thank you, thank you, thank you for your in-depth video. Happy New Year all!
Seren used to be the bomb on Kodi! but Stremio also excellent! Apples or Oranges? I prefer IPTV
Umbrella working flawlessly on KODI for months. Firstly install the latest KODI 21.3 from Troy’s Toolbox then please follow this guide closely. Make sure you install the cocoscrapers and Authorize Real debrid or whatever debrid service you have
I’m loving Dradis lately. Fast, crisp and gets updates.
For streaming: 1) Stremio, 2) Syncler and 3) Kodi. Based on speed, reliability and ease of use.
For personal data: 1) Kodi. Based on speed, reliability and cusomization.
Can’t figure out how to load apps on stremio to stream free movie and TV. Help would be appreciated.
I know the add ons just can’t find and install them. Thanks
12 hours by following Troy’s links off his email, I wander how long his 1st setup took .
I’m a tad more experienced but can set up Stremio for anyone in under 10 minutes. It’s definately a simple job using the bootstrapper.
I download a build and set up a Debrid and Trakt on Kodi in under 5 mins……
Wanna race? ![]()
Seriously though… I asked my friend’s neighbors cousin’s roommate and she declared Kodi as the Troypoint #1 apk/app as voted on by Troypoint members!
Everyone can look it up. ![]()

Pretty Much the same here @JPM69 Usually 5-10 minutes for a Build with RD and Trakt Authorization. It depends on Build size and how long it takes to download/install the Python files
After 100 or more installs it should be that easy. ![]()
Greetings everyone, I have been using Kodi for a few years now and I’m sure I will be installing Stremio soon. I don’t exactly fit in a typical Troypoint user profile. I like to record TV shows and playback later skipping thru the ads. I use a couple of IPTV providers that furnish .m3u files and also the xmltv files. Why - because I like to curate them to WAY smaller lists - this makes for super-fast tuning. I use a Python server to serve my curated lists and xml tv files to PC’s, FireSticks, and Onn devices on my network. I also use TVHeadEnd / HTSP for playback/recording thru Kodi. My question is, is there a DVR solution for Stremio ? If so does it work well? Any pointers as to which ones?
For anyone interested I also use Tivimate, Sparkle, and a couple of Emby’s.
