Sparkle TV Player

So far as I know, the only way you can pay for sparkle is purchasing via the Google Play Store.

Thank you. Do you know if you must pay first for the app; then setup the sparkle?

Anyone play with the remote button mapping to get a better experience? I mapped the OK button to open the guide.

I just saw where sparkle now has app mode that has a similar feel to tivimate. Gonna install it here in a bit and try it again. Sounds like it is much improved.

Please give us your honest opinion @teehar. Tx.

where do you find app mode?
thx
edit:
found it in about settings

Wow, I like that. It is not that I couldn’t use the old mode. After I got used to it, it was fine. What was confusing was I would always have to think about whether I was in Tivimate or Sparkle.

I have Sparkle version 2.0.2 and found it in Settings->Display->Mode.

Thanks for the info!

It’s a big improvement over the original layout. I actually like it, I will use it more than before, but not sure it will replace tivimate for me just yet. I suggest everyone try it out in app mode to see what you think. The dev is definitely headed in the right direction.

Not sure if I missed something  I’ll take another look at it later but on my UGOOS, both settings look the same. :person_shrugging:

Put your glasses :sunglasses::nerd_face: on @PapaS

Got it now :joy:

It should look more familiar now Papa

My previous post question is irrelevant with the use of app mode. Remapping not so needed now.

the more I have played with the sparkle settings the more I like it. even has a shimmer effect you can turn on for the guide. tivimate has some competition for sure.

Right. Even has a preview window if you can find iin setting.

yea it took me a bit to find that setting and my preview window is on the left.

Wow! I decided to check out Sparkle again after reading the comments here about app mode and the DVR stuff but didn’t realize it would fix an irritating thing I was experiencing on Tivimate.

I have IT Tech Basics and it’s been great for the most part using Tivimate. But occasionally it would buffer in the middle of a game so I would find another channel and it was OK. Or if I was going back and forth between two games, sometimes it would time out when I changed the channel. I always thought it was on the IPTV side but I found I could work around it.

But in the day and a half I’ve been using Sparkle, with some of the channels that used to be a problem (like Rogers Sportsnet) I have not had a single problem.

Thanks for the feedback about this which prompted me to check it out again.

do you know why some series dont work on sparkletv

I’ve been using Sparkle pretty much for the past month. Liking it much better than Tivimate
