Yes, I see that. I ask for a download today. It appear to do it. Now when I use add device I do not get cannot connect to google servers anymore. I am getting the error message something when wrong.
I pre-ordered the KM2 Plus Deluxe, and when using it we experienced Netflix dropping (blank screen), and video freezing while audio continued to play, and of course the remote pairing issue that you address in this video-so thanks for doing that Troy. Ultimately, while impressed with the system speed, and the 32G of internal storage and 4G DDR RAM, I was not impressed that it is Netflix certified, and yet we still had trouble running Netflix through it. I have paid the shipping cost ($70) that MeCool will requires on all returns, and await their decision to either replace or refund the purchase. Personally I would prefer that they refund it, as we have no such Netflix issues with our Fire Stick 4K Maxx 2 or the ONN Android TV with Google overlay box from Walmart.
Yes, this has happened to me when I must have mistakenly turned down the volume on my device remote that is paired with my audio receiver. I generally use the receiver remote to control volume and didn’t realize I’d turned the volume button on the device remote lower. So make sure the volume control on the device remote is all the way up.
Like many others im frustrated and bewildered with the lack of volume. I had to connect a Bluetooth bose speaker at max volume im barely able to hear iptv (tivimate) or kodi. It’s to bad,it would be a nice box if you could hear anything. Nice pic, good speeds.but…
Those with volume problems.
This may be due to you setting the box volume low at first when the remote wasn’t paired to your TV.
To fix this, go into Device Settings / Set up remote buttons and forget the device that you have paired whether it’s a TV or Soundbar. This will allow you to control the volume of the actual box itself again.
Then, use the volume up button and turn it up to max.
After that, re-pair your TV or Soundbar.
This hasn’t happened to me as more than likely my box volume was already set to the highest level when I paired the remote to my TV.
It’s worth a shot.
Hello. I have watched the KM2 plus deluxe video a couple times. Ordered one. received it today. It will not connect by wifi, ethernet or by my android phone. Has anyone but me had this problem? I’ve setup several fire sticks, onn sticks, even a dynalink when Walmart carried them. Any solutions other than waiting for a defective device to arrive from China. I just found out this device is avaiable on Amazon. Thanks for any possible help. Don’t think I’m doing anything wrong.
strange for sure. Try setting the scanning always to on, if its off. Make sure ethernet and wifi switches are on… just brainstorming here, im sure you prob already checked. Make sure no proxy settings are there. And make sure ip settings are dhcp.
edit… in dev options set mobile data to always active
This was 100% what was wrong with my sound bar!! Thank you so much!
RPL - I just received my box today and have a similar issue. I have two wifi networks available (each in 5G and standard), and while my Mecool will connect to all of them it then goes to a “Please wait” screen and ultimately tells me it can’t reach the internet. I have multiple devices running on these wifi networks, so I know they are functioning properly. I wrote Mecool about the issue…and hope it really doesn’t take 48 hours to hear back. I’ve tried resetting the box, resetting my routers, etc. Can’t do anything via the settings on the box because the startup mode renders all of the buttons on the remote inactive while the setup is taking place.
See my solution that I replied to you with and your sound problem will be fixed.
Hello everyone. I received my mecool km2 deluxe box yesterday and was very excited to test it out. I have seen similar issue’s I am having but some have not. I’ve seen dolby vision isn’t working correctly and can attest to that. It seems to not like any MP4 Dolby vision files being played. It will play at first but go to fast forward and it will lock up.(Or mine does). Also volume issues seem to be related to files as well along with dts … At least for me that is. I am running a sonos arc soundbar which is capable of running everything but dts. So some may be having possible issues with that? It doesn’t like switching to HDR on its own either which gives the option to keep HDR on always which for some reason forces everything into Dolby vision regardless of being in Dolby vision. Does anyone else have these issues or is it just me? Not exactly issues we should be having for a somewhat expensive box. Appreciate all the help and discussion about this device. Hope everyone is having a safe a warm winter!!
Thanks Troy i will give it a try when i get home. I appreciate ya. Cheers
Sadly this box doesn’t seem quite ready for prime time, and for the moment it’s not a great alternative to the Nvidia Shield.Maybe it will be in the future. But as it is I wouldn’t feel it’s such a great value atm.
Well I’ve had my unit for over a week now and I’m impressed with the speed so far, but it’s not a huge jump from the Onn’s that I have, tbh. I use a 64 gig USB for expansion on those so I don’t really feel the pinch there either. One thing: I’m going to have to contact support about my Anker Compact Bluetooth keyboard refusing to connect to it. This kb connects fine to the Onns and my desktop as well as both my Raspi 4’s and my phone, so I’m pretty sure it’s not the kb. We’ll see what support has to say about that.
Would I buy another one knowing now what all the hullabaloo is about? Probably not. The Onn works so well I think it would be unwise to spend 6 times the money for the slight increase in speed. Funny thing - the Onn remotes and the MeCool remotes are, aside from the number buttons on the MeCool, identical. Could this mean what I think it means? You decide!
Still going back and forth with the terrible, SLOW tech support from Mecool trying to get my box to connect to the internet. It’s gotta be defective based on others being able to use theirs. Still connects to both WiFi networks and via Ethernet, but in all cases “can’t reach internet”. I just hope they’ll give me a refund - this is leaving a very bad taste in my mouth.
wjschulz: I just had that happen to me today too. I was connected to my router (wifi) but it reported that I had no internet. I switched off/on the wifi radio several times and that didn’t work so I rebooted, and then it connected and I had internet again. Hmmm…
I just got a return email from service@mecool.com for my Bluetooth problem with the Anker keyboard. They told me, quote: In the Bluetooth matching interface, you can press the “right button” first, and then press the “OK button”.
It worked!
I sent that email at about 10:45 this morning and got the reply at 1:00 AM, just a little while ago. I would say for speed that’s pretty good considering the time difference.
When you say rebooted, do you mean the Mecool box or your router? I’ve tried both several times.
I just rebooted the MeCool wjschulz.
Six reboots (unplugging/replugging) with no success. Looks like I have a fancy doorstop.
