I think I just got a dud. I hope the next one is a winner.
I just purchased a Formular Z12, and I was wondering if anyone has a fix for not synching with a Samsung TV. I know Troy had that problem on his first impressions video. I looked for a way to contact Formular, but I could not find a way.
Would appreciate any help.
Thank you,
Kenny Mc

I had a problem pairing my tv with the Z12 Ultra, but it gave me the option to do a custom pairing and it worked. It said that I had a Samsung and it’s an LG . Also, the Z11 and Z12 are Widevine DRM L1 certified. That means that you can stream Netflix and Prime in DH, Full HD and 4k just like a certified Google box.
That’s the first I’ve heard of being able to stream Netflix and Prime in 4k, not being a google certified box.
Your right. What I meant is that L1 certified will let you watch them at the highest resolution that they allow. L3 certified would only allow in standard resolution.
Correct DRM certification BUT Netflix still will not let their app install on Formuler
Thanks, Mike I’ll give that a go
How do I download the FORMULER REMOTE APP to my formula Z12 ultra?
The app cannot be found in the MARKET app, cannot be installed from the GOOGLE PLAY STORE, and I have not been able to find it on DOWNLOADER.
I have read on the web that you have to have the Formuler Remote App in order to assign specific keys to specific locations on the Formuler Z-12 Ultra.
HELP
Never mind - Stupid Question
The app was already on the Formuler Z12, I just didn’t see it.

Hold on, I still have a problem. when I click on the remote control app my GT - BT 3 remote is selected, but I cannot access any of the options and the remote box in the top left corner indicates the remote is DISCONNECTED.
Settings indicate no problem.
So I do need help after all.
How did you get into custom pairing? I have an LG and it will connect with the remote but only has limited functions. Turning on the Z12 turns on the TV but turning off the Z12 does not turn off the TV, plus volume does not control the TV just the box. Thank you.
Go to the apps selection at the top of the screen. Download the green Market app. Open the Market app and download the purple formuler remote app. Select your remote. Select setup IR Control. Because the formuler identified my TV as a Samsung rather than an LG, I had the option to select TV Custom. I paired the remote by selecting Program Manually and using my TV remote and facing it with the formuler remote. The example on the screen shows you which buttons you can program. Hold down the button you want your TV to learn, then the button on your TV remote that you want to teach. You can also program your colored hot keys from this screen to open apps.
Guess you missed the pairing of remote when you first booted the device as shown in Troy’s video.
Basic steps to manually pair the remote
Step 1: Navigate to the correct settings menu
From the home screen of your Formuler device, go to Settings.
Select Remotes & Accessories or Add accessory.
Step 2: Enter pairing mode on the remote
Locate the OK button (often a large circle) and the Menu button (three horizontal lines) on the remote.
Press and hold both buttons simultaneously for about three seconds.
The white LED light on the remote will begin to flash, indicating it is in pairing mode.
Step 3: Select the remote on your device
Your Formuler device should automatically begin searching for the remote.
Wait for the FORMULER GTV BT1 (or similar name) to appear on the list of available devices on your TV screen.
Select the device to complete the pairing process. The remote’s light will stop flashing once it is successfully connected.
Yep mine does the same thing as you stated!
I did that at the start of setting up my box. Just revisited it and it worked. The turning off the TV part was a settings issue and now corrected. So, all good here. I do have one other problem and I will post about it.
Has anyone got Bluetooth headphones to work? I have connected two different sets, and they do connect but there is no sound. I have checked everything but no joy so far. Anyone got them to work?
Thak you Mike, worked like a champ. About two weeks ago right about the same time as my Formuler Z12 arrived, my 2 year, 2 month old Sony Bravia OLED flat broke. First TV in memory that I just didn’t hand down to one of my kids or grandkids. Ab + learning about IPTV and then the TV going out right before my Ole Miss vs LSU game had my head spinning.
BTW, my Panasonic OLED Z95A 65” just arrived early this morning. I had no help and they didn’t offer any white glove service which at 85 I would have surely opted. No screws to mount the base resulted in 1 hour trip to specialty electrical parts store. Five hours later … dang it is beautiful. But my back is really hurting. ![]()
Same Power and Sound problem you are experiencing. I’m counting on the rave reviews about their support and updates. ![]()
Just tried to watch Fox Business on the Ab feed on the new Panasonic and never saw so much pausing (using Premiumize too). Not sure what that’s all about. I guess I’ll keep my Google YouTube subscription going at least through football season … and maybe more if the MyTv Online3 and “ab” don’t start preforming better. Good ole Kodi.

I like to watch UK football or soccer as it is known here. Never had an issue using ab until today, watched a match this afternoon and it buffered a lot so I had to revert to my back up service. Maybe an issue today and hopefully not going forward.
I switched from a 2019 Shield and basically set up the Z12 identical to my shield. It definitely felt a bit smoother navigating between apps and within apps. However today I set up a 4 screen multiple view of NFL and was surprised when just 4 screens made it jittery. I put the Shield on a different input, same everything else and it handles the multi screen without any issues. Like having 4 different TV’s stacked but all running perfectly. Now I’m second guessing whether I should keep the Z12.
I ordered a Z12 from Amazon to try it out and expect delivery this week. I will do a direct comparison with my AM9 on picture quality along with other features and performance. If the Z12 performs as well, I’ll probably keep it. If not, this will end up in a returns bin at Amazon.
