šŸ† New Formuler Z12 Ultra Setup & First Impressions Video

I didn’t recall that you bought the new Formuler. Sounds like much brain damage. I’m happy with my podunk Fire TV Cubes. Maybe someday, I’ll stick my head out of the foxhole.

Thanks for the info.

Thanks Troy, appreciate you for all the info!!

Is anybody else having issues with the new Formuler 12 Ultra box. Mine keeps rebooting. After I go in any app it just freezes up then reboots about a minute later.

@NoleNation…. Happy 2nd. Anniversary at TroyPoint….:tada::birthday_cake::confetti_ball::moon_cake::piƱata::moon_cake:

For me the Z12 seems to be very basic when it comes to options available, I couldn’t even find any audio passthrough options. Seems to me it is very heavily Dolby Video focused.

That’s why I sent mine back. Need my surround sound. Cheers!:beer_mug:

Try this,
Adjust settings: On your Formuler, go to Settings > Sound (or Device Preferences > Sound) and set the HDMI output to Auto or RAW
Reboot: your Formuler

Other options -
Using Optical Audio (SPDIF)
This is a good alternative if your sound system doesn’t support HDMI ARC.

  1. Connect: the Formuler to the TV with an HDMI cable for video.
  2. Connect: the optical (SPDIF) output on the Formuler to the optical input on your sound system using an optical cable.
  3. Adjust settings: In the Formuler’s sound settings, set the SPDIF output to RAW.
  4. Reboot: your Formuler.

Using Bluetooth (For Bluetooth-enabled devices)
If your sound system has Bluetooth connectivity, you can pair it with your Formuler.

  1. Put: your Bluetooth sound device in discovery mode.
  2. On your Formuler, go to Home > Bluetooth > Add accessory to search for the device.
  3. Select: your sound device from the list to pair it.

Troubleshooting Tips:
Audio Optimizer: Install and run the Audio Optimizer app from the Formuler Market. This app resolves most audio issues by optimizing the device’s sound output.
Reboot Devices: After making changes to settings or connections, reboot your Formuler

My system has a one connect box and hdmi earc. The problem isn’t no sound it’s that it won’t even run the Samsung 990C let alone the surround sound. I’ve already disconnected it. I don’t have any optical inputs. The soundbar has 2 HDMI inputs and the EARC. I have it disconnected for now and if it won’t even control the soundbar, or the TV power then I’ll wait until they fix it. A high end box like this should not be any problem to set up and configure. Lots of missing options compared to other devices. Not even any audio passthrough settings. But tx for the help attempt @MikeN

I guess I’ll stick with my AM9. One of it’s strengths apart from AI upscaling is a bunch of settings and options which apparently are missing on other devices. I had high hopes for the Z12. Oh well. :frowning:

Even if you had an optical port, it won’t handle Atmos. Proper HDMI and EARC is a must have these days. As big as Samsung is, I don’t understand how they(Formuler) let this slip through internal testing.

I keep wanting to try a Formuler to try the MyTV Online3 and the remote (I have a huge box of remotes, I try way too many), but they come up short for the price point in my eyes. I was able to get an open box Buzz TV X5 SuperSport for less than half price to scratch my Buzz itch. Hopefully I’ll be able to find a super deal on a Formuler one day.

One thing is for certain, Formuler provides a great remote. Feels good in the hand and has some weight to it. Most all others I have tried feel cheap.

But that is an opinion. As with all things YMMV

Yes, that remote is the best feature to me. That is the one thing most cable companies had right. A dedicated remote with direct access to most features. I like simplified remotes sometimes but also like not having to dig in menus or have multiple button presses for tasks. Even with button mapping you can only do so much since there are only so many buttons to map.

I guess we never think about this but has the sound bar been updated?

Guess life isn’t simply plug and play.

3 year old trouble shoot video still valid according to comments,

Thanks for the vids, but without a computer I can’t load a drive with the update. All other devices have worked without issues with my soundbar and even with the old firesticks I’ve never had any earc issues so imho nothing to fix. I will give it another go soon and see what happens. Turning on the device should automatically start my TV and soundbar, but that also isn’t happening. So With this being bluetooth I shouldn’t have needed to do the infra red pairing so I will see how to unpair and start from scratch with the remote. I tried plugging directly into one of the HDMI ports on my soundbar but it also didn’t work, there was nothing on the TV homescreen showing that a second HDMI port was active and there always has been accept with the Buzz P6 which had to be directly connected to my one connect hub. The more I read up on this remote and the Z12 the more I’m sure I have missed some vital steps or not done the setup properly. So if I get time today I may plug it all back on, find out how to unpair the remote and start from scratch, don’t want to do a factory reset as it was a bear to setup my google account.

That made me chuckle, thank you

Reminds of a baseball bat or a golf club.

My Formuler Z12 arrives tomorrow!

I have never used tivimate or iptv before. So I have a rookie question.

Referencing ā€œMy Tv Online 3ā€ - Can you record more than 1 program at the same time?

Thank you for the link. It didn’t answer my question? One comment by Troy was something about multiple IPTV sources but there was no mention about recording 2 different shows at the exact same time. In the past when I had devices that plugged into my pc, there were multiple ā€œstreamsā€ available and I could record shows/games on each stream. My thoughts are there is only one stream per device, ā€œsuch as a Formula Zx, ONN, nVidia Shield, etc.ā€. Like I mentioned I am a novice in this ā€œnew to meā€ area.

If my assumption is correct, I wonder if I could use my other ā€œTV boxesā€ where each could be setup to record one stream each. I am concerned primarily about multiple sporting events taking place at the exact time of day.
