IMO uninstalling 20.4 is the way to go. Open Downloader, go into the Tool Box and Download 20.3, install your Build or Addons, Reauthorize Real Debrid and Trakt if you use it
People mentioned they can āRollback kodiā but i donāt know how to do it.
Using a build definitely makes it easier to delete and reinstall kodi.
If you dont want to lose your data and hope a solution comes along then leave your Kodi 20.4 alone and download Troy Kodi Fork 20.3 from Downloader. If they have a 20.5 or 21
Kodi fix the error just update then.
Thank you, and all the rest, for your responses. Uninstalling 20.4 and reinstalling 20.3 here. And for those of you somehow associating Troy with this issueā¦GET A LIFE! Troy has been my/our lifeline since i started cutting my cable years ago. There is no one better IMO.
Exact same problem. Havenāt had a chance to re-install 20.3 yet, but glad to hear that is working.
No⦠Reinstall 20.3 from TP toolbox. I had to do the same. It doesnāt take long.
Thatās the best way to do it.Dont forget to reauthorise RD and Tract
Great advice!
Just want to thank you for reminding me that the Diggz Chef Wizard has that Backup/Restore feature. I always meant to try it out and test it. Finally I did.
I was able to save the Xenon Plus 2.4 build from 20.4 to my external drive and load it on the TP Fork (20.3). All the RD and Trakt information carried over without having to Reauthorize or Sync too.
Just needed to tweak a few things to get it to work and it paid off.
Work around for onn box.
remove battery hold power button for a few seconds
press all buttons randomly
then replace battery
select button will work. Its a reset of the remote. Have to do every time you start Kodi. Not great but has been working. Until a fix is released.
Canāt respond to question below new member.
Kodi open when you reset.
Only have to do after you turn box off
Iāll give it a try.
But you said āPress All Buttonsā. You mean at once? A little confused.
Does kodi need to be open before you reset? Once kodi is closed you have to start over?
Yes it worked!
Only takes a few seconds to do but needs to be redone if you close kodi or it shuts down. However i left kodi open and went to the home screen and back to kodi and the select button still worked.
Welcome to TP!
Was your Kodi 20.3 and Kodi 20.4 downloaded from the Kodi site or through the Kodi updater in programs in Kodi? I have found if I use a 3rd party to load Kodi lets say 20.3 then try to update it to 20.4 off of Kodi it will not work. But if both were uploaded through a Kodi official site or the Kodi updater in the programs all up date fine.
Now this did not matter in the past, perhaps it has something to do with 20.4.
Hope that helps.
Thanks so much for posting this work around for the ONN box. Just tried it and it worked just like you said. I had KODI open, took out the batteries, held the power button for a few seconds, randomly pressed all the other keys one at a time, put the batteries back in, scrolled up to the KODI āsettingsā button and it worked! Glad I waited for a work around before deleting 20.4 and my 11 Favourites and installing 20.3. Thanks again!
Just an FYI⦠I just setup a couple of KM7 boxes with Kodi 20.4 and the OK does not work on the controller inside KODI. I attached a Keyboard and OK works fine. I uninstalled Kodi 20.4 and side loaded Kodi 20.3 using ADB and the OK button on the controller is now working fine. I guess it has to be a Kodi 20.4 glitch because OK works on all other apps (Pluto, Freevee, ES) and Kodi 20.3. Hmmm⦠Be aware it is Android 11 so you canāt access to the obb directory. I havenāt tested attaching directly to my laptop yet; waiting on a USB-A to USB-A cable. Will post back after tested. Supposedly, Android 14 has a hole that allows access but Iām guessing they will close that as well.
Yup 20.4 is know buggy and my guess is they are not fixing it as it was scheduled to be the last 20 point release before the upcoming KODI 21 - Omega
Youāre welcome glad it helped. Update you only need to remove one battery and press the ok and direction pad and that seems to work faster.
Kodi 21 beta 3 gets rid of confluence skin.
I hope that its only temporary. I think they did this once before but brought it back.
Just an FYI, I installed 20.4 on a KM7 and the OK button would not work from the controller. I attached a keyboard and OK worked fine. I reinstalled 20.3 and the OK button on the controller works fine. Obviously a 20.4 bug.
I hope they keep it, too. The default Estuary skin is awful!
I had the same problem with my MeCool.
Thanks MarkxG. I have not tested 21 yet. All my ONN, Mecools and Amzn sticks are working fine with 20.3. I have not seen anything that indicates the Android team will reopen the Android/obb directory closed in 11 through 13. There is a hole in Android 14 that allows entry but Iām guessing that will get closed soon. I canāt imagine why they would hog tie developers; makes no sense unless they see it as a security vulnerability. You may want to peek at Kodi 21.0 "Omega" Beta 2 | News
