Try the cec setting and reboot, cant hurt. The issue sounds simple. Turn off play protect and re-try Troys site again however that player shouldnt be needed to get sound working.
Shield Pro>settings>Display & Sound>HDMI-CEC Enable
Under Volume control I have mine on IR(Samsung SOUND BAR) but depending on your setting it may be different.
Then scroll up to Advanced sound settings >Match Dolby/PCM audio levels>enable
Then Surround sound enable Dolby audio processing and Stereo upmix
Now on my Shield PRO I am using HDMI so go into Audio Output and select HDMI
Now on my tablet I open Stremio and go to settings>Digital audio outpt (passthrough) and enable it.
That is my setup on the Shield Pro using Stremio. I also use full hardware-accelerated decoding in Stremio
I have printed out your instructions and will give them a try ā¦thank you very much ā¦but, is there any reason that only one apk has no sound with my current settings? I have enabled the hdmi-cec and turned off play protect. Would it make sense to delete my Stremio apk and download again?
Not entirely sure as Iāve used Stremio for years and never had an issue. Thatās why I recommended that you go into your Stremio settings, on your phone or tablet, and enable audio passthrough.
Up until now, I havenāt had any problems either. I looked at settings on my PC version and donāt see a audio pass through. I did try a few of your other suggestions, but no luck. Iām going to delete it and try againā¦
I installed Stremio with Torrentio and setup Real Debrid per Troys guide.
I have been using it for months and generally it works great.
Occasionally there will be no streams for a series episode. Previous and future episodes have streams. I watch a lot of true crime shows and many of those have no streams for any episodes.
Is there another addon I can use to get more torrents or if I turn off RD, will it find more episodes?
Thanks.
There have been many domains shut down and sources have been coming and going. Iāve never had issues with finding sources with Torrentio. Some, like RARBG close down but then others are added. On the rare day a release for a series that comes out at say 8PM may not have a source until the next day. This is rare, but like any app, these things do happen. Even RD, although rarely, does show incorrect sources or none. I just find that patience is the best fix. There is a new update, you may want to try that as well. Another excellent option is to give Kodi a try. Some find Kodi works better for them than Stremio. Between the two Iāve never been left without finding any show or vid. Oh and thanks to @MarkxG I found that integrating Trakt into both Kodi and Stremio adds an extra depth to either App that adds valuable information. It does take a bit of learning, but what doesnāt in this hobby.
I am not referring to the latest episodes which can take up to a week on some series. I am referring to episodes in the middle.
I can find them usually on Kodi Simply Artic.
New update to what?
New update to Stremio. If you want to try other addons then here ya go>
Thanks. If I install multiple addons does stremio just look through all of them every time I search for a show?
Yes it does. When you do a search then after it scrapes for sources they will be listed starting with All and ending with Torrentio RD on the far right. I have all my weekly shows added into the āLibraryā
@Miki I started using the Umbrella KODI Addon about a month ago and itās now my daily go to mainly due to itās Lightning Speed (maybe because of the Coco Scrapers?). Anyway most of the top streams that come up are from Torrentio
I have tried everything I know how to do, but still, no sound with Stremio. I have uninstalled twice, tried a different version from their website, uninstalled that and installed from the Google Play Store and still no joy. Stremio support told me to turn on hardware acceleration but I did that have Miki suggested it.
This is the only app with no sound that I have installed on the Shield. Does anyone have any other suggestions that may help. I have installed Stremio on my other Shield with no problemsā¦
I have had Stremio on my Shield Pro for almost 2 years and absolutely no issues with the sound. Not sure what to tell ya. I gave you all the settings I have.
Make sure you do not have Tunnelled Playback enabled in Stremio.
Also try disabling Frame rate matching.
My only last suggestion is to install MX Player Pro or VLC and then try playing a vid using an external player in the Default Player setting. The default player should be set to ExoPlayer to start.
If you have Stremio installed on another Shield and you are logging into the same account on the new install then all settings are saved in the cloud and will be the same, which indicates there is a different setting in the audio config from one shield to another. On the shield I recommended you use the HDMI under Advanced sound settings>Audio Output. Maybe try enabling Auto instead.
I lose sound on my stremio occasionally.
Changing the volume sometimes fixes it. Even though the sound level is not low, clicking the remote up or down sometimes restores the sound.
When that doesnāt work, I restart my box and that has always fixed it.
I reboot from the android tv, settings (gear icon), device preferences, and restart at bottom.
Thanks guys ā¦will try again tonight.
Finally solved the issueā¦changed the default player to the libVLC player and now I have sound. Stremio will have a new update soon and hope it goes well for all of us using their product. Thanks to all for your help and suggestions.
Personally I tend to not update something unless there is a problem or there is a benefit to me. If it aināt broke, donāt fix it.
See we all do things differently. I never miss an update and as part of my daily routine I check for updates and install them immediately. I find most updates actually fix more things than cause further issues and often are security updates which I consider important.
I would say there are tons of Troypointers who do this. It isnāt a wrong strategy, but how we end up with people still on Kodi 19 posting weekly wondering why things donāt work the way they want them to.
