How to Install Stremio on Firestick with Torrentio/Real-Debrid

Lets put it this way, I spent years as a systems programmer in an engineering dept. I know that for every bug we fixed we introduced 10 more  Just the way it is. When new things come out, I tend to wait, my days of beta testing were over decades ago. There have been enough people who update and have to revert back to an older product. Even when apple would have a major update on IOS (Sorry when I first started, I actually used a few apple products) I would not update until the reviews come in. The best example of not updating is this small company, I think it was called Microsoft  where every second windows they put out was a total disaster and most people couldnā€™t use it and updated to the next. Sooner or later I update but while things are working well for me, there is just no rationale that I see that would warrant me to follow suit unless itā€™s forced and we know some apps are forced. I hope everyone had a great Canada day and 4th of July.

I tend to fall into this logic. I usually wait a bit before jumping in. I wait and watch the level of issues and complaint drop down a bit before I go for the latest and greatest.

Iā€™m the impatient one and always have been. I must also be the lucky one as Iā€™ve never had issues with updating as soon as they come out. Been doing it this way for 35 years. To each their own. Although I do admit Iā€™ve never bothered with beta testing.

Then I guess alpha testing is totally out of the question  Itā€™s different when youā€™re paid for it

The decision on updating is easy for me especially when it comes to KODI. Been using the same KODI Build for about 6 years now. when the Build Dev updates I update! :man_shrugging:

I was offered entry into the windows beta program when we were writing entire Reg keys for XP Black, but I never wanted to be without my system and couldnā€™t trust that that Beta was stable. Thatā€™s at a time when I was dual booting Win and Ubuntu and running my site servers overseas, so I couldnā€™t afford to lose any functionality. Everything has advanced at a crazy speed and now instead of testing I just prefer to enjoy all that is possible now.

Exactly. That testing was in another lifetime. I never ran ubuntu but when I worked for Atari for a short time, we had a T800 transputer system that ran a linux based OS. Of course we didnā€™t sell any, like so many people wanted and needed that. Linux was always important for me. Why? Because it was the one server I could run a speed test that actually had the bandwidth.

Try vlc beta versions, nightly builds Iā€™m running 3.6.0 beta 3 on Firestick Next Gen works OK plus itā€™s got loads of custom stuff switched on in settings.
Remote access server is pretty good and works pretty well on Firestick to access remote Nas etc

Iā€™m using firestick with the stremio service. Iā€™ve installed torrentio via the web, and now Iā€™m trying to add my premium realdebrid. I have done it before so Im pretty familiar with the steps. Ive added it successfully on Kodi, but torrentio just wont register realdebrid Am I missing something? I type in my api key,on the configure page, the page sends me back to stremio, but i get no links, and in the configuration it shows no RD. I tried it on my pc, my laptopā€¦ any ideas what the heck Im not doing? Using the same ip addy so Iā€™m not over the limit with RD.
thanks!

Are you using a vpn. If so disconnect it, whilst adding it to torrentio.

The API key is often difficult to get right if youā€™re typing it in. It is a very long key. The best way is to use your desktop, phone, tablet or lappy that you have Stremio installed on and copy/paste the API key where it shows you to. Then logging out and then back in on your Stremio app installed on your streamer, any changes or additions made to Stremio will be automatically applied

thank you for your answer. I have cut copied and pasted, and followed the guide listed here to the letter. Thats why i posted thisā€¦ i am absolutely stumped. Maybe I need to change my browser, firefox, (maybe its being overprotective but hasnā€™t stated the site was blocked) I did do it successfully 6 months ago, and then my subscription to RD needed to be renewed, the same day torrentio went down last week. I uninstalled torrentio, reinstalled it and readded my api token but to no availā€¦ sighā€¦ but thank you for taking time to reply to me

Hey Miki, what in your opinion is second best after Torrentio.
