I was having the same problem. I purchased 5 X88 Pro X5m boxes and on two using the sbx_x88_pro_x5m_atv_14_8.img worked fine and on the other 3 I got to the 6% and would stop and status bar turned red. On the other 3 I used the sbx_x88_pro_x5m_s905a_atv_14_15.img and they all flashed with no problem. They were purchased from alibaba, aliexpress, and bangood. The one from bangood was not a problem.
I had the same thing happen to meā¦when you go to slimboxtv.ru look further down and you will see another file to download that wasnāt there when the video was made. I think itās called revision. Anyway on the box thats giving you trouble use the revisionā¦.I believe they label the revision as amlogic s905a
What could be the problem when the command for unlocking bootloader says; āfastboot flashing unlock FAILED (remote: āunknown commandā) fastboot: error: Command failedā
This is a x96 M200 with the A revision of the s905x5m. Can flash the A version of the image, but during boot it halts at the Slimbox logo. Let it sit for 1.5hrs with no change.
Has anyone successfully flashed slimboxtv on the ugoos sk1? I was able to follow the video and do the x88 prox5m but Iām stuck with the sk1. I believe it may be my otg cable because when I plug in the x88 I hear a little ding. When I plug in either slot on the sk1 I hear nothing. Im using the same cable that was successful on the x88. If anyone could help I would really appreciate it, thanks
I have an AM8, which is basically the same as the SK1. They both use the exact same firmware. To flash the firmware on the AM8, I had to use the USB-C port, which is labeled OTG on my box. You canāt use any of the larger USB-A ports to flash it. Hope this helps.
This box only has the larger usb a drives. I saw a video where a guy did it and saw which drive he used but itās not working for me. Its got to be the cable. I appreciate the input, I need to do more research
Make sure youāre using a cable that permits data transfer. Some are strictly charging cables or power supply only.
Yes thankyou. The cable is the same one that I used to successfully flash the x88 prox5m and the tanix tx5.
Then in the settings you may find an option for the ports one of which is charging. So perhaps it is set to that instead of data transfer. I have my ports set for power only on my BuzzTV P6L. I would have to dig around to remember where that is. Also if using developer options check for the USB settings in there and see if something needs to be enabled like USB debugging, which is used to copy data between your computer and you device, and install apps.
Im wondering could this be it..developer options under select usb configuration, itās set on charging. My other options are mtp (media transfer protocol) ptp (picture transfer protocol) rndis (usb ethernet) or midi
I would assume it needs to be MTP. In developer options you should also have USB Debugging enabled.
I have not flashed my SK1 but if I remember the Ugoos needs the power cord plugged in before the flash.
Does this flashing on an x88 pro still make it independent of Google if they implement the side load wait time? This doesnāt make it an android tv box, correct?
I just want to make sure itās still open source if I do flash it to slimbox
Sorry for the delay, Slimbox does not have this model in the selection. Thanks
I have a HK1 RBOX model K8S, on the bottom it says the CPU is RK3528. Googling shows itās a Rockchip. Is SlimBox compatible with it?
I also have an X96Q, which is on the list of supported boxes, but itās only 2 gig RAM 16 gig ROM vs the HK1 with 4 and 64.
Are any of these Android boxes that out of the box are limited to outputting a max of 1080p able to have higher output resolutions unlocked?
Hello, I wanted to see if you had any problems with your 4gb ram 64gb storage x88pro x5m box when you flashed it? I have the 905a variant and when I flash it with slimbox the ram drops from 4bg to 2gb and from 64gb storage to 32gb storage.
When I flash āfactory firmwareā from slimboxās website I get the same results.
No, I donāt remember that being the case.
I have the 905a variant also and that did not happen to me.
Sorry for posting here but Iāve searched the forum and not really finding what Iām looking for. Maybe Iām not searching correctly - IDK. Iāve loaded SlimboxTV onto my X88 Pro X5M android box. Iāve followed the direction as laid out by TroyPoint. Iāve updated Magisk to version 30.7 but when I check under superusers I do not see (sharedUID) Android System listed. Actually no apps are listed there. Iām at a loss as to where to proceed from here. If anyone could point my in the right direction it would be very much appreciated. Thank you
