🚀 How to Install SlimBOXtv Firmware on Android TV Box

You install Downloader through Google Play after SlimBox is installed.

See this was all I was asking, what tool you use on the windows computer to get the download in the first place. Now it says windows PC but I sauce it can be a windows laptop, correct?

I don’t have a computer, just my tablets. No desktop or laptop.

Yes, anything running the Windows operating system. Doesn’t matter if it is a laptop or a computer.

What version slimbox are you trying because there is 2 different ones, the s905x5m cpu and s905a.

I am having the EXACT same issue. Newly purchases x88 pro X5m with the Amlogic S905X5M, 4gb ram, 64gb rom. OS Android 14. Purchased the USB cable as per link. I have tried Aml_USB_Burn_Tool_2.3.0 and 2.3.8, as well as Slimbox ATV version 14.10 and 14.11. If bootloader is left unchecked, it gets to 6%, turns red and fails, giving 2 error messages which are “[flow]oemcmd[disk_initial 1]=[Error in transfer]” and “Burn Failed, errcode 0x03020102”. If I check bootloader, it gets to 3%, turns red and fails with message “Burn Failed, ret -202”. I have tried this on two windows 11 laptops and the results are exactly the same every time. Anyone’s help would be very appreciated!

Slimbox ATV version 14.10 and 14.11. I followed the video and I purchased the same X88 proX5m box that he was using and the same usb cable that he was using I loaded the box the same way he did in the video and I had no luck So if you have a idea of what I’ve done wrong please tell me Thank you

I haven’t flashed this model box but when I flashed the ugoos sk1 I did the following.

Things to get ready before flashing,

Plug in usb cable to pc, dont connect other end to box yet.

Plug in android box power adapter to wall socket, have it on but not connected to android box yet.

Connect usb from pc to android box.

Start amlogic burn tool, load slimbox image and press start.

Hold in reset button on android box, keep pressed and insert power cable into android box, you should hear a sound as it connects, and it will start flashing, release reset.

If that doesn’t work hold in reset longer.

Try both firmwares slimbox has as there is firmware for s905x5m and s905a.

I have successfully flashed my X88 Pro X5M and never received the option to enable SuperUser. I have updated Magisk to 30.6 and when I go into SuperUser I have the message “No apps have asked for SuperUser permission yet” . How can I enable SuperUser

I did factory reset on my box and still no popup to grant SuperUser :man_shrugging:

I used ver 14.9

I just did mine today and same issue. Then if I go in to interface, and pick something like the icons, it doesn’t do anything and then I get a message about not allowed.
I looked everywhere for superuser but have not found it.

Open the Magisk app, there will be two shown the top one says Magisk, the bottom says App. Update both of these. I originally did app and had the same issue you have then I went and updated the one shown as Magisk. When you click update it will open a different screen with 3 choices I used the one that was recommended, and ran the update again. Use the mouse pointer to close or done at the bottom once it is done. I forget the actual wording, but it will be bottom right corner. Then there will be a pop up asking if you want to grant superuser permission. I clicked grant and later had to grant one more time.

Thank you for the reply. I have done the update and still don’t get a popup to grant SuperUser.

I wonder if you need to be using something or trying to use something that needs super user?
Like changing the colors or the icons, I had projectivy listed in Magisk when I looked.

That did it. I changed the icons and the popup to grant SuperUser came up. Thanks for your help.

That is great, one can never push to many buttons when trying to get something to work.

Well for me on the AM9 throwing the switch for rooting & going through all the Magisk app stuff doesn’t work at all, still unrooted. I have tried the updating of both app and top deal in the Magisk app as @DaveZerf has stated without any luck. Going through the settings I didn’t find anything of use there either. This is an irritating one for sure! :face_with_symbols_on_mouth: Also I was thinking about flashing the Slimbox firmware but at this point I have zero clue on which version of firmware I need for AOSP. I certainly do NOT want that garbage google setup. I presume by the video Troy has done that his link for the proper file on the toolbox is the google android version stating that is what most want. It has zero specification to identify the file as to what you will end up with.
