On April 11 it was announced on the Torbox Discord that Torbox was going to discontinue their Stremio add-on.

No timeline was given for the action, however.

Oh well. You can still use your API key in any addons that allow configuring debrid accounts.

Their post indicated that Torbox wants to stick with their knitting, so to speak, and that there are more than a few add-ons that do the job as well or better.

But that’s just their addon, the API is still active to add to other addons.

@Miki Yep. Torbox is a great debrid service, for streaming on Kodi, Stremio, etc, but it’s not the only utilization.

Oh I know. I have a pro sub. But I don’t think there’s anything I can do to change their minds. Just have to accept it and do this best we can with their decision.

So for us that are more than a little slow does that mean that if we just bought a torbox service for our Stremio account it’ll no longer work?

@Kayak No. It does not mean that. If you authorize Torbox in a Kodi add-on or into a Stremio add-on like torrentio or comet or elf hosted, etc, etc it’ll still work.

It just means you can no longer use the TorBox addon by itself, but you will still be able to add the TorBox Debrid API key into other addons that accept the integration of Debrid API keys into their setup as @elginherd has pointed out, which is the way most ppl use it.

So I watched the video, made an account with Torbox, and it shows up in my addons. But it doesnt show up as a separate debrid service when selecting a movie. it shows combinations like “comet/TB” or mediafusion/TB” but not Torbox on its own. Also its not showing the Utorrent addon option to select from either, and its in my addons.

It looks like you have used the Debrid API key in the addons. With the possibility that TorBox will remove their Stremio addon I would just use the key as you seem to have done as that will be the only way going forward it seems.
