Is the elementom repository (may have misspelt this) categorised as an addon, as I cant do anything until i can install that, and I get unable to connect error message (server refused) everytime. I am going through the toolbox with the number given in the tutorial. Apologies if I’m in the wrong section[quote=“blusangl, post:1, topic:119028, full:true”]
Can Not Install Add Ons Keep Getting Message Unable To Connect what should I do next

Quite likely, from a very rusty memory, I seem to recall that you have to turn off your VPN to get it to load. Once it is loaded then turn your VPN back on.
This was most likely a topic in one of the Elementum threads.
When I I check the file manager, there isn’t any zip file in the. Downloader folder. I followed all the steps to add the elementum download. It showed that it was installed. So why isn’t it showing up in the File manager downloader folder?

Just curious, did you turn off your VPN?
when i try to download elementum from downloader, i choose downloader repositiory and keep getting a blank screen. it does not let me choose downloader for repository. please advise, it worked back earlier in year but i had to reload fire stick 4k max and kodi omega 21.
You need to search for the Elementum Install video from Troy. You have to follow it exactly to get Elementum to install. There is no downloader repository. I just re-installed Elementum on my MeCool device a week ago. I did not get it to work the first time, and got it to install the second time. You have to go slow and be exact with every step. It will install if you do it correctly as Troy says in his video.
i did 4 times, it says go to downloader repository. when i do, next page is blank. i only came here because i was frustrated in efforts. there was a different way last year to install tho. thank you for feedback.
Hello, this is usually due to not providing Kodi the proper storage permissions like I show in the video. If you don’t do that, you won’t see anything in the Downloader folder.
This worked for me
This worked for me. Thank you very much
I am following all the instructions and I STILL CANNOT THE ZIP FILE TO LOAD…when it comes up in downloader it is labeled like this
mgcjn5(4).zip
Jayne – will need to try this myself. Looks like no response can mean that it’s not working any more.
Do you mean cant Load or download? The “(4)” in your zip file name most likely means its been downloaded 4 times. There should be the original file a (2) a (3) and the (4) and more if you keep downloading it.
Do you know where the file(s) are stored on the device?
I get to “install from repository”. The ElementumOrg selection is there but when I click on it, It doesn’t give me the option to “video add Ins”. As far as I can tell the permissions are correct and I had the VPN turned off when I started the process. I am installing on a Walmart $19.99 ONN box (not the stick)
What version of Kodi are you using?
21.2 is the most current. If you are using an older version it may not be compatible.
Just tested and was able to get video addons option.
I uninstalled then reinstalled kodi with same version and it is now working as it should. Strange, but I’m much happier now.
thanks for your response!
I have tried the last couple late nights/early mornings to install Elementum. I tried the 444801 dl code along with following TP’s great instructional video. After many tries, l was finally able to get the zip downloaded into same directory. I could further see that file in my FX file explorer. When I try to add it to Kodi, in Kodi the file folder, Downloader, there is with nothing showing.
I even went to reddit posts and it told me to turn on both remote control options, which does sound sketchy. Still nothing, zip file is there, but Kodi not seeing it.
What am I missing here folks?
The first st thing you missed was this thread below…![]()

Did you allow access to the files in Kodi permissions? That is probably the culprit. It is mentioned in the thread.
Sorry it starts at the botton of the thread. Scroll to the top.
I have made sure that Kodi has access to all files.
I guess, if I want to pursue this, I uninstall and start anew.
