The first st thing you missed was this thread below…
Did you allow access to the files in Kodi permissions? That is probably the culprit. It is mentioned in the thread.

I have made sure that Kodi has access to all files.
I guess, if I want to pursue this, I uninstall and start anew.
You can also try to DL Troy’s Fork and see if that works. That way you dont need to lose any set up you already have on your kodi.
Otherwise I guess you will need to delete and reinstall. I thought the permissions access would have solved it for you.
