Crackdown on iptv

Or losing a TV with a beer mug thrown through it! lol

as far as I know in USA no one can get in trouble for using it. There are no laws against it like other countries

Oh no doubt I agree there are services that don’t buffer. But I’ll use the same analogy with NFL games. If I’m going to a bar to see my favorite team play and there are issues with the TV I’m never going back to that bar. Ever. So paying $1,000 for customer retention might be cheaper.

Sad to say, when that law comes to the USA, the punishment will be a daily requirement to watch The View and to write a daily report of the show bragging about how good it is and how much you enjoy the show. The requirement will drag on either if you get tired of it or you beg to watch old reruns of Julia Child!

Well believe it or not, cable companies DO have trucks that drive around their subscription areas and can find illegal boxes. In fact it happened to me, I got a knock on the door and the cable guy told me my connection was detected and was “leaking”. So, yes they have that capability. As Troypoint says,”USE YOUR VPN”!! Just sayin.

This is what the cable company is looking for…its an FCC mandate they have to follow. But yes…use your VPN :cowboy_hat_face:

Yeah it’s kind of like the cop that knocks at your door saying you got a gas leak but he’s really looking for the dope you’re selling yesterday. LOL

Thanks for the clarification. I know that during the Super Bowl, some years ago, the cable trucks were cruising the hood looking for pirated boxes.

Have never used IPTV.

Me neither. :face_with_peeking_eye:

TikTok though? Do you realize all information of any type including all database information for users is available carte blanche to the Chinese government?

Cable companies. So to be clear, what constitutes an illegal box that would “leak” a signal? Did you have a modified cable box? Those are very different from something like a Firestick or an Nvidia Shield where you’re getting your signal from the internet.

i dont see where a firestick ot even a china box could leak rf signal maybe 20 years ago when all that was used was coax but the hdmi cabling i dont see it i have my ham radio less than 4 ft from my fire cube setup if it was leaking rf i would know it
