Thanks, I’ve used Tizentube on Android but never thought to check for AppleTv.
Unfortunately Onn Android devices are not made available to us in Canada. I can’t afford a $200 android box and I don’t want a dirt cheap Chinese box. What to do, what to do?
That isn’t so. Amazon dot ca has them, mind you they’re re $62 cdn. And Walmart carries them here as well, although a few stores are out of stock a lot. You can order them on line from Walmart dot CA and have them delivered to your local store for p.u.
So, the SK3 will go up against the Buzz P6. I’m sure it will be blazing fast. I assume the Android 12 they list will be 64bit or it will be a huge letdown. Good to see DolbyVision/Atmos listed along with DTS. this could be the one I’ve been waiting for. Strange they list more info for the others than for the SK3 which will presumably be their flagship.
I was thinking of the AM9 Pro for DolbyVision but now I will wait to see about the SK3, hopefully it won’t be forever to launch.
I am really happy with my Rockchip 3588 boxes including the P6UL. It will be interesting to see the pricepoint on the SK3.
I think the SK3 will be right in line with the SK1. Around $225-$250 in the US with the current tariff situation. Hopefully that finally gets settled since I was able to get my SK1 for a little over $150 with an AliExpress sale and coupons. The way it is now it is just easier to get one off of Amazon.
I’m thinking of moving away from my Firestick 4K to the Onn 4K Pro. But will the Onn be facing the same app crack down in the near future that Amazon will soon initiate?
Look at it like this…if you spend the $45 +tax for the pro and eventually the ability to sideload some apps is lost, you’ve still been able to enjoy your content at a greatly reduced cost for however long it lasts.
Forgive my ignorance, what is Tizantube? Is it related to Samsung? I just bought a Samsung tv and need to usea firestick for my apps. It doesn’t let me use the downloader app.
I kind of don’t understand the over reaction to Amazon closing their OS to side loading. Now everyone is freaking out over when is Google going to do the same thing. Amazon has their own proprietory OS. The Vegas OS. Google is using Android. Google says they want all apps to be approved by their standards to be able to load them on their devices. I got Kodi, Stremio, and Tivimate from their play store. I watch all my movies and series thru Stremio & Kodi addons with Real Debrid. I watch all my live TV on Tivimate with my IPTV service. So why is everyone so worried about Google pulling an Amazon move?
Google is a beautiful invention!
I’m glad in my request for info that it got people talking. You can find any device you want on here. Thanks to everyone who took the time to explain their favorite and why. That’s AWSOME! Anyone who is considering booting the old firestick should look on here for a contender for their viewing experience. It’s all on here. Thanks agin yall. Happy streaming!
I don’t think people should overreact but should be aware of the way things are heading. You speak about it as it is now and think you will be OK, Google could decide to go after the mentioned apps tomorrow. Other people use other apps that are very likely to be affected, and it makes sense to take things into account when purchasing a new box you might have for years.
Google is not what you call a consumer centric company.
Ya think? Ha ha.
I am still not worried in the least. If you want to spend a bunch of money on a high end streaming box that runs straight Android, then by all means go ahead. I am not going to worry about something that has not happened. I will cross that bridge when I come to it. If I come to it. I only concern myself about the present and I do not concern myself with the future. To each his own, I always say.
I’d recommend AOSP devices myself, but then I do tend to try to future proof my stuff. Again, thank god this hobby has options to cover almost every like, dislike, or philosophy.
Well, I was only commenting as a reply to a post in which you were commenting on “everyone is freaking out” and asked, “So why is everyone so worried about Google pulling an Amazon move?”
So maybe you should take your own motto to heart. I was just answering the questions you asked. Nowhere did I suggest what box you should buy.
And thank you for the permission to purchase a box that will make the most of my Tv and Audio system, I appreciate it.
Does the Buzz TV boxes have malware? Do they support streaming services like apple tv, netflix and paramount?
Long time user of Firestick here in Australia (I use to buy them from US before they were even available here) and I’ve recently followed all Troy’s videos to block it from being updated but I’m still concerned my days of Firestick streaming tv shows and movies through APK’s are numbered. My question is what alternative streaming device can I use in AUSTRALIA?
Any help would be appreciated. TIA
