I can definitely see Dave’s point. Some of the loaded boxes have a great catch up feature. In my case, that would be that all games are recorded. I would not have to do that. It is really hard to find an IPTV with good catch up now.
Sorry Miki, you slipped in your post while I was typing.
I didn’t think past year 1 but you are correct that IF the box keeps working perfectly, it eventually will be more cost effective to have the pre loaded box. Perhaps, too, how tech savvy the user is plays a part. I like to fiddle with my devices trying different things. If one wanted plug & play with little or no messing around and fiddling, that’s a factor in buying the pre loaded box.
I bought a SuperBox off of eBay around 5 years ago because I got a deal on it, around $150. I used it and then outgrew it because I wanted higher end features like DolbyVision etc. and my interests are more of a hobby not just utility. I like experimenting and trying various boxes and services too.
The box in on its 3rd user, still in the family, and still functions great and has never given any trouble at all. Every now and then there is buffering or a service goes down for a while but there are multiple services installed so the backups are there. The biggest limitation is the service is tied to the box so if you want to move rooms you have to have multiple boxes or move the box.
Troy suggested the ONN devices and I now have one of each.
I had many Firesticks and after 2 failed, I went all ONN and am very satisfied. I would rank the $50 ONN device right up there with my Nvidia Shield.
Welcome to the familey stank!
I see no reason to get anything other than the Onn 4k Plus. For $30 it’ does everything, plenty fast and sufficient storage. I’m a Firestick guy for over 10 years but as Amazon continues to cripple the firestick and recast, I’ll be moving over to android boxes in the foreseeable future.
I bought a VeeSee 3plus and hace been extremely happy. IPTV hasn’t buffered one bit. Everything smooth as can be. Heat VOD and Ultra are seamless. Comes with 2 primary services and a backup. Been streaming for over a decade, use shields, onn devices, Stremio, etc with RD. THIS box BLEW ME Away. Best $240 i ever spent!!!
I’m watching Onn as we speak and it works well.
Hi I enquired about the Vsee boxes and it appears they are shipped to USA and Canada only so no good to me in Ireland. I was going to try one out but obviosly I can’t.
For a quality device at an economy price, nothing beats the Onn 4K Pro. For an upper tier android streaming device, the Ugoos AM9 out performs the BuzzTV PS6 and Formuler Z12 Ultra at a significantly lower price.
I use tiviMax on Apple TV 4K and works fine
So with Amazon about to block some apps, I’m looking at the Onn box. Buy will the same thing happen to it as well?
I use IMplayer and UHF on my apple tv for iptv, they both work great, stremio was just recently released for apple tv as well. I can do everything i want with my apple tv and i dont need to deal with ads on the homescreen and dont have to put some 3rd party launcher on it to get it to look how i want
AppleTv has some great IPTV apps available now. UHF, TiviMax, iMPlayer(which syncs with the Android version) are all great. Add those to Stremio Lite now available with Omni that also uses Stremio addons and an Apple Tv can cover most people’s needs. Only missing a Smartube replacement.
Yep, it is a true contender these days. People don’t realize the apps available now. And to top it off it is blazing fast and stable.
And with 64 Gb memory it’s great, looking forward to the next generation too if the rumours of it having a faster chip it is going to be great! For anyone in the iPhone ecosystem its a no brainer and for those who are not it is simply an excellent device
If you have an apple computer you can download sideloadly and put tizentube on your apple tv which is pretty much identical to smartube. look up sideloadly for apple/ios devices and the mutube ipa file, its all ya need
Can you use a windows PC to sideload on an apple tv Box?
Im not sure, ive never tried it. If the sideloadly app is available for windows then i would say its possible, there may be some extra steps involved. I am 100% apple in my house so i just used my macbook.
