My VPN is white listed in RD and I’ve used it from Mexico to Canada without issue. In my RD panel ProtonVPN is listed as my internet provider. I switch servers all over Canada, Mexico and the U.S.A all the time. I never give out or share my login with anyone and only have it installed on my own devices. I’ve travelled with a 4K Max all over and no issues. Once again though, my RD account is only ever accessed by one device at a time.
I will do some testing on this the next time I’m in a new location with a different ISP.
It works for me when I moved from SW Florida to East Tennessee, and I didn’t do anything special. In Florida I used SS as my VPN. Here in Tennessee, I have been using Express. I have changed server location may times and haven’t noticed any disruptions.
What I thought the OP was referring to. Is, can you use the same RD account simultaneously in two different locations.
Despite being connected to the same VPN server location, say Chicago…that would not necessarily mean that each device connection to that server is tagged with the same IP address.
Ipvanish, for instance, has a pool of 42000+ addresses across their 75 locations.
Nonetheless, your advice is correct - it would still be astute to, at least, use the same server location for all your devices.
I’ve never used the same server for all my devices, just the same VPN and never had any issue with RD that I’ve had for years, and I frequently change from Canada, to USA to Mexico, Australia and the UK. As RD specifies my ISP as ProtonVPN it seems that is the key.
I have them in separate houses. I own 2. Same account use them simultaneously etc. multiple rooms all used at the same time.
No , you cannot use in two different households , if you do real dedrid will change your password and send you a warning . I know because it happened to me , I wrote and and told them that I wasn’t aware I couldn’t share my real debrid with family , I believe I had a week to respond but after they changed my password , lesson learned .
…sometimes, for some, those lessons are best experienced first hand.
It’s about what you take away from the lesson afterwards which determines if anything was learned.
Not trying to argue with you and want to make sure everyone understands what I was saying. As long as you are ALWAYS connecting to same VPN as other family members from start to finish, it should work to use in different locations. But, once someone forgets to activate VPN and connects to Real-Debrid servers it will show as a different “ISP” and tag you as using the service in two or more different locations.
I understand what you’re saying, I sorted it all out with help from the people who replied to my question thanks for your input and time
Basically, that’s why I got RD’s slap on the wrist…my wife was watching her show at the same time I was on another TV watching mine, same house using different VPNs.
I use NordVPN and it’s great and it’s always connected to USA servers and runs perfectly with kodi
So i run Kodi on Xbox with Redflix. Can you set a vpn up in Kodi itself? Is there a way to run a vpn on xbox? Want to get it setup for my stepdaughter but we live in different households. Also just to be sure i understand correctly, you have to be connected to a vpn for initial setup of the account?
If you are talking about a real debrid account you usually have to be disconnected from a VPN to make payment. The only way I know of to use a VPN with Xbox is to have your VPN on a router.
