Can I use real debrid in 2 households at the same time

You cant use 2 different locations at the same time.
I just found out the hard way.

I helped someone set up their Firestick using my RD account. When I got home a few days later and used mine I got several emails

This is only s portion

You can use your account from any public IP address but you can’t use your account from more than one public IP address at the same time.
If your devices are connected through the same router, they are getting only one public IP address and you can use as many devices you want.

Yes it so cheap they don’t want you sharing on a different IP address they sent me a notification say I’ll be thrown off for giving my login to different IP address. It’s only 16 for 6 months sooo….

Ok. So how then if I use a VPN and I set up my Real Debrid while VPN is on. Then wouldn’t that mean I would always have to use the same VPN up address? I’m a little confused cause I thought the whole purpose of a VPN is to mask my IP? It’s not like my tvs are always using the same VPN locations. So why would it matter if someone else is using a VPN at another location with my login?
Not that I am doing that cause I can’t see all the time if they use a VPN or not. Just wondering.

I got a warning.
My wife & daughter were watching a movie in another room while I was watching another show. There were different VPN addresses. Hence the warning.

And an advantage to having a VPN installed on a router instead of individual devices.

When you access RD, your app or addon is ‘signed on’ to your RD account at the IP address where your device is virtually located. If another device signs at another virtual address, it triggers the warning.

It doesn’t matter how you signed up for the service, home address or a virtual address. It only matters whether you’re using devices at different locations.

Since i use SurfShark (and this will apply to all VPNs) and run my Kodi and Cinema through that, even my three FireTVs on three seperate TVs will each report a different IP simultaneously. It has worked smoothly for me for years. Trust me, RD knows how their service is used, and they understand VPNs will be used, therefore any IPs reported will be bogus. Even the same device will report a different IP each time the app accessing their database closes and re-opens, or the user resets his VPN.

You guys aren’t getting it… I’m sure their system checks BOTH the user account and the IP address. Of course hundreds or even thousands of people are going to have the same VPN address, but only one of them will be logged in with your RD account… And that person should be you.

I have about 15 fire sticks. ALL logged into the SAME account.

Do you use them in different households all simultaneously? Or are you using them all in the same house?

Bummer…we had Netflix family plan and were able to watch it from different locations and states
As long as sign on password and ID …but they cracked down on IP,addresses and it’s difficult not impossible to still, get shows … a email code sent to original member…that code allows to watch for day or longer if no sign ins in other locations… they are cracking down even newsmax is on the band wagon charging for their streaming…

Simultaneously. Never had an issue.

Thanks for answering only the half of the question that didn’t matter lol. Different households or all in the same one?

I got a warning from them once. I have firesticks in mine, my parents and my brothers house all using my account. One of them wasn’t using VPN so I got hit. They locked my account, I had to reset my PW and reset up real-debrid for everyone. Big pain. Their warning showed 2 devices with 2 different IP’s and said if it happens again, they can cancel my account. I’ve stressed to everyone they must use vpn. Been a about a year since then and so far no more warnigs.

If you’re always logged into a compatible Real-Debrid VPN from start to finish it considers that as your ISP. In my new videos on the Real-Debrid page on our site I show how this works. So, if you use the same VPN when registering and same one when streaming and you don’t make the mistake of using the service without VPN active you can definitely use the same account in multiple locations. But, as soon as you use the service without VPN active, it will determine your actual ISP and not allow for multiple locations. At least that’s been my experience.

So if it’s a RD compatible VPN, do they white-list that vpn’s entire list of server locations?

That’s exactly what I’m seeing. For extra precaution you may want to make sure that you are connecting to same server in your VPN on all devices.

That makes sense. Although I like being able to switch servers when needed. Sometimes that can help with certain issues.
