You rock! Thanks for that info!

Your Welcome. I have lotsa boxes if I were to pick just one it would be the KM6, however my ugoos ut8 is a beast and im currently using it as an emby server and its working well.

You forgot to tell him about the 1G E-port & more importantly, the fancy wood trim

oh yea its got a gig eth port too…and that beautiful wood trim … @pangaeatech loves his as you can tell :eyes:

It just goes so well with my living room furniture  :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

My main streaming device is a KM2 . Love that box :star_struck:

I’m almost done my projects and have gotten the KM2 out of electronic purgatory. I’m just not sure I’m up to all the hassle I know I’m going to have getting the remote to do more than just control one thing. I know @TXRon has said there’s a remote update but jeez, when you spend your money on a device that simply didn’t live up to the hype it’s hard to give it a second chance. Can’t wait for my ONN to arrive. Got an otg cable and 16GB Sandisk 3.0 USB drive formatted and ready to rock. Big shout out to @rjwinkler .

Congrats on your new soon to be onn box. Great little box. I have a senior gentleman that I maintain his streaming devices and I switch him out between the onn box and the km2. He uses both without issues mostly but prefers the km2. So whenever I take his km2 to update it etc…he pesters me till I give it back even tho the onn has no problems

What are you trying to get your remote to do?
Why is your KM2 In purgatory?
I have both mecool KM2 boxes and the onn TV box . On the screen the boxes are identical, they both use the same remote control. Onn tv box uses the amlogic x2 and the 2 uses the amlogic x2( newer one) . The mecool obviously has an SD card slot, USB 2 & USB 3 ports along with an Ethernet port.

I believe the km2 is a x3 box

I’ll keep this brief as most already know my dislike for the KM2. Bought it, installed it and all the remote would do was control 1 item and that was the KM2. It refused to controll the TV, soundbar, and KM2 at the same time. I complained to them and after 2 months still no update or solution and sick of using 2 different remotes. So into purgatory it went. I know sorry @PiratePete I didn’t intend on bringing a tear to your eye.

No tears to my eyes :joy: Here’s how it works. If your TV uses Bluetooth technology to connect to its own remote control then the remote for both your mecool & onn tv will work with your TV. My ROKU series 6 TV comes with a Bluetooth remote so my mecool and onn remotes will automatically connects with the tv and control the power and volume buttons. I personally keep it disabled in " HDMI CEC settings" because both of those boxes have a glitch where it kicks the Android volume down to 50% . So when I switch from regular tv to one of those boxes I have to raise the volume way up to hear it. Or, I have to go into Android settings and disable HDMI CEC and raise trh Android internal volume back up. But for some reason it won’t stay at full volume so I just keep it perminantly disabled. I always have the TV remote next to me as I’m constantly switching between HDMI feeds. Hope those helps.

I appreciate your information and attempted assistance but I know exactly what I’m doing. When the KM2 first came out there were huge remote issues and that killed it for me. Apparently now those have been rectified, so as soon as I can I’ll give the tires another kick.

Good luck. Do you know it your tv uses Bluetooth to connect its original remote ?

The Firestick Max remote worked flawlessly. MeCool admitted there were issues. So for a while I had to turn the TV and Soundbar on with the Max remote and then turn The KM2 on. They just never did any update for a couple of months and I got tired of waiting. But I will give it another go as other than the remote I had it humming right along.

Could’ve sworn when we talked about getting a box to you, there was no way to get around the tariffs…? How is this way from rjwinkler different?

I have no idea yet. He has shipped it but with Mexico being as it is, I am not sure that they won’t demand payment from me, but I am an eternal optimist so I’m keeping the old fingers crossed. I think that sometimes if a product isn’t available here and you ship it as a gift, they defer the import duties.

Copy…sounds like their duty/tariff rules are clear as mud  :crossed_fingers:

OMG, the laws here are designed for one thing only, to get as much money out of your pocket as they can. My Samsung Galaxy S21+ phone cost me $2100 cdn here, and that was still cheaper than having Amazon or anybody ship me one.
