I got a pic from someone on the insider showing Nvidia info alongside the buzz but thought it was a mistake as it showed the codename mdarcy which was the codename of the 2019 Shield Pro when it was released.
Yeah that is the same iinfo that Iām looking at. Itās definitely there.
mdarcy is android code for android tv 10Q, not new but also not specific to shields
I thought the dud review showed it was straight Android not Android TV.
its what he said and most likely true since its a rockchip
Iām going to have to go back and read up on your comments regarding Android and Android TV. If my memory serves me you prefer the straight Android.
I like both but stock android is easier to modify things and if iptv is all thats needed than any player will shine. Android tv is just needed for certs like netflix etc
Ahh tx for that clarification. I have never ever used or watched Netflix and youtube maybe once every couple of months. You are lightyears ahead of my knowledge when it comes to chip sets and Android v Android TV.
lol it gets confusingā¦but thats why I like ugoos boxes so much, stock android and they even give you tools to hack it up if you want.
Has anyone in the Troypoint Ohana gotten their hands on the Buzztv powerstation 6? Comments
Hi SMF. I just got my hands on one (16 ram)on Tues of this week. Have been playing around with it since then and Iām very impressed with it so far. Graphics are very sharp and the speed of the unit is impressive. I also notice that the box itself does not heat up at all, which is different that the 5 box, which I found heated up enough to require a fan to cool it. It has a million different settings that you can play with but so far I have just played with the stuff I understand and like I said, very happy with it.
Thanks Johns. I guess at the hi price point and with the almost unheard of 8-16gb RAM, I was hoping it would smooth and near buffer proof. I know there are several important reasons for buffering but this should be the head of the pack. Are you using the stock TV interface or TiviMate?
Hi SMF. I have not noticed any buffering, it seems pretty well free from it. I suppose time will answer that question best. Iām using the TIVImate and also the ATV launcher pro and both work flawlessly. For Netflix I use a wireless mouse, I use the Netflix version that came with the unit, works just fine. The remote comes with a āmouseā key but I find it so much easier to use an actual mouse. If you have any specific questions just let me know and I will try to answer them as long as they are not too technical.
Thanks again Johns. I appreciate your candor. Like some others, I donāt use Netflix so no biggy. Iād be curious to hear from the 8gb usersāis 16gb needed for buffer free tv and moviesāno gaming neededāor is 8gb sufficient? I am ready to make the plunge and put my Amazon sticks and cubes on life support.
I am hoping to get the 8GB RAM but honestly the Shield Pro with 3GB has served me flawlessly for years. I donāt game or do vid production and just mostly stream.
If I had a choice iād go with the ugoos imho. If you want the buzz iptv player I can see that but ive yet to see an inbuilt player better than tivimate.
PapaS, I can state without hesitation, that we made a wise choice in avoiding this box and getting the Ugoos SK 1.
Oh I agree. The last time I got a buzz box with the built in player, I still installled and used TiViMate. I did however, love the the internal bay for adding an extra SSD.
