šŸ† Better Alternative to Real-Debrid & Premiumize? + Less Expensive

New is the day a weekly series episode is released. Yes if this doesn’t matter to you then TB is fine. They do seem to have the higher res releases after a couple of days or so.

Signed up for TB for the year to test. They gave me 15 mo. for $28.80($1.92) using PayPal.

Crypto button wasn’t available. I did change my VPN to S. Africa in hopes of using CC and it didn’t work. I like the ease of use. It works just fine. I will let the other 2 debrid services lapse. I have it on the Crew, Umbrella, and POV.

Stremio works great too.

I had the same experience paying last year and used the support widget to ask back then. It looks like the previous payment processor they used last year kind of screwed them over. It’s probably similar to how Real-Debrid had to suddenly remove Amazon Pay from their options, that’s just part of this legal gray area I guess. The new one has really serious fraud protection, so by default VPNs don’t work for first time payment. Once the subscription is active though, you can switch between tiers and payment methods without having to deactivate anything.
I personally use Stremio mostly instead of Kodi, but I did read that the POV addon is the one with the easiest Torbox integration since its developer is actively working together with them.

Just checked out POV…and it’s pretty impressive. Scrapers are super fast! TB, PM, and RD all pull fine and fast. PM seems heavily favored also, just as much as TB.

Umbrella and Fen light play well with TB also - but POV pulls more sources (I haven’t looked deep enough to determine if TB integration contributes more to that).

Stremio still king when it comes to finding a source when all others fail…including POV.

That’s usually my first test with new installs. :face_savoring_food:

Does Torbox work with Cinema? If not, what’s the best Real-Debrid alternative that does? RD doesn’t seem to be pulling in many good streams to Cinema anymore…thx!

It took my credit card I didn’t have to use the crypto

Torbox isn’t compatible but Premiumize is.

Ok, will try that! Thx @PapaS

Agree wholeheartedly. I was gonna try RD along side of PM, then I thought I’d try TorBox along side of PM but then I thought, WHY? PM provides a gazillion sources all by itself. I shifted into ā€œthriftyā€ mode and stuck with PM alone. Now I have more $$$ for Black Friday deals .

Does anyone know if Torbox will ever go the route of working for Cinema?

Since Cinema APK has no formal dev support, I wouldn’t hold your breath too long for TB implementation.

Better to look towards Kodi if you’re wanting to benefit from using TB.

Oh ok, good to know! Thank you! @mthr1

I have been trialing a TorBox Essential 1-month trial for a week now. It initially seemed great and felt very comparable to my existing Stremio config w/ Real Debrid. I particularly appreciated their easy to navigate website and intuitive and account subscription options / process! In terms of performance, I’ve started to noticed it not being as consistent in the last couple days for some reason (unable to find and/or play streams). Another oddity is that although I still have the Torrentio addon enabled, it doesn’t appear that any Torrentio streams are being served up (only Media Fusion & Comet). Maybe I need to remove and re-add the Torrentio addon, which I’ll try later tonight when I get home.

I did some additional quick testing this morning before heading to work. I tested 1 Stremio account on my Onn 4K Pro (configured with TorBox), vs. a separate Stremio account on my phone w/ Real Debrid. I tried playing a couple streams from a very popular Harrison Ford movie (80’s trilogy). When trying to play a few of the same streams in the separate Stremio accounts, only the Real Debrid one was cached and could be played. This is far from obscure content, so I was surprised. Granted, I still need to do more testing and across a broader range of movies, but I’m starting to check more boxes in the RD camp vs. TB. My main hope with TB was the sharing across multiple family members and support for concurrent streaming with different IP addresses. That’s my only real complaint with RD. The ease of setup & sharing a single account / API key across multiple boxes & households is a powerful use case. Having to create multiple RD accounts and manage several subscriptions and renewals each year is a pain. Maybe that’s a reason to check out Premiumize and maybe cash in on a Black Friday deal coming up later this month? Thoughts?

It must be something with your setup.

I just searched for the movies (I’m pretty sure) you were trying with the Torbox addon and Torrentio with Torbox and both provided numerous instant results from 4k remux on down. Note: I set up all of my addons individually, not with AIO etc.

Torbox and PM have run BF specials in the past so probably will again this year.

Definitely could be something with the setup. For my original Stremio account w/ Real Debid, I did everything manually with adding and configuring my addons. For this new (test) Stremio account, I gave the Bootstrapper method a try (which was super fast and easy by the way). There might be something not working as part of that configuration, or with the AIOLists addon. I’ll do some more testing / troubleshooting later. Thanks for your note & confirming how it’s working on your end.

Yeah, with a big name like that not turning up results something is definitely up. I’m sure some tweaking will fix it.

Are you using a VPN on your Onn by any chance? When the Torrentio addon doesn’t show up at all, it’s usually because the developer is blocking many of the datacentre IPs that VPNs rent from. If that’s the case, you can try to disable the VPN to check, or just change servers until you find one that isn’t blocked.

And I also agree with Scooby that there’s probably something in the setup preventing the results from showing, since even the working addons you mentioned, Comet and MediaFusion, show results for something as popular as you’re looking for.
I also highly recommend this addon as it is the only one truly rivaling Torrentio as far as amount of results goes, I don’t know if it’s already included in your bootstrapper setup:

It’s as easy as picking the service and entering the API (and I would leave the box for only showing cached content unchecked, but that’s preference).

thanks for the tips. Yes - I’m using SurfShark VPN on the Onn 4K Pro. I’ll try switching to a different server, that’s a great tip (especially because Torrentio was previously showing up until recently).
I also appreciate the recommendation of StremThru Torz. I had not heard of that one, but will definitely give it a try!

Just added StremThru Torz using Torbox. Pulled up quite a few links. Is there a rate limit like Mediafusion and Comet? Unfortunately you can’t limit the file size.

Hey Miki, do you know of any other service Torbox works on? All I’ve heard is Kodi and Stremio.
