🏆 Better Alternative to Real-Debrid & Premiumize? + Less Expensive

Well after countless hours of frustration it sure would have been nice to know that first. Users could sure use some better instructions. So can you point out the exact advantages of using a $10/mth API in my free Stremio addons when a $4/mth API like PM provides more recent and better res results? I certainly don’t want to turn this into a negative, but I am honestly frustrated and simply do not understand.

But that is exactly what I am saying. This was never a presented option or suggestion. I have many addons in Stremio that I have added my PM API to, costing me $4/mth. Now I am expected to add another API key that cost me $10/mth and does not provide the latest and best sources and I have proven that in screenshots. I tried again today and PM found many sources, of top quality for several, while TorBox addon did not even find one or at most 3. So are you saying that not using your integrated addon in Stremio will provide me those sources I want like the 4k, and the same day that PM does?.

Expected? This is an alternative to rd and premiumize. Use whatever debrid you like best.

Just a suggestion @Miki I think you should have done like this cheapskate and went with the 3 dollar a month essential plan instead of the 10 dollar pro. You still get to plug your api key into everything that takes it and forget about the usenet thing on the 10 dollar one.

I think the point is being missed. That has never been given as an option nor the best way to use TorBox. Had it I would not be as frustrated as I am and certainly would not suggest the $10/mth tier for a debrid key.

I agree but I guess I missed the instructions saying where you shouldn’t bother with the integrated addon but just use the API key in the addons you presently have in Stremio. So now I will delete the TB addon, get the API key and add it to my existing addons and see what advantages it provides. Conclusion NONE. If you don’t have RD or PM and want a less expensive way to get your Debrid streams then yes the $3 TB will do, but don’t expect to get the highest res available.

I think most users will want the $3 plan and those who want to dig deeper into files available in Usenet will have that option. Personally, I wouldn’t get much use from the Pro plan because the links I’m getting is all I need. This is just a first impressions video and we will be coming out with tutorials soon that will provide step-by-step instructions for all of this as well as benefits of using Pro plan. I agree that their documentation is lacking and not very detailed but ours will be.

Hi, I have used TB on Stremio and Umbrella, but failed on Cinema. Signed up by using crypto and it was ease. Once I remembered to look for my API under settings.

Yeah but if you look at realdebrid and premiumize site you won’t find much instruction there either. They would be stupid to do that. We rely on sites like this to help us learn how to use this stuff. Looking forward to seeing more troypoint guides on this.

But that is entirely different. Do RD or PM offer an addon that can be added to Stremio? No they don’t. So it’s just a matter of adding the API. So i wasn’t referring to how to use an API I was referring to the TB addon. Also TB has a Pro level with usenet that while being more expensive does nothing to improve the TB API in any addon. So $10 Vs. $4. Hmm.

I agree with you. no need for pro version in torbox and you need to remember that there are many people out there who use this for downloading and don’t touch it for what we use it for. Many more use-cases for usenet than these stremio addons. Prowlarr, radarr, sonarr, etc. So to sum it up this works great with basic plan for use with stremio and kodi addons and don’t use their torbox addon until theyve made it better. I’m getting same links that I get with rd.

I fully agree! The Essential tier has API access plus the internal addon, and it’s enough for pretty much everyone who just wants basic streaming, same as the other popular debrids.

The Pro tier has Usenet, which works great with the cache-and-play feature, as well as integrations with your own Usenet indexers. It is the only way outside of the Easynews addon to seamlessly stream from Usenet, with the advantage that you’re streaming from Torbox’s servers, not those of the Usenet backbone. It is something for so called power users and enthusiasts who enjoy tinkering, or those who are into very niche or maybe foreign content that is only accessible through Usenet, sometimes with the help of local indexers.
For users of private torrent trackers, the fact that Torbox is the only debrid that seeds torrents, meaning you won’t get banned from those sites, is also a big plus, but again, that’s unrelated to streaming. The features can be as simple or as complicated as anyone wants them to be

I never download and never will. PM has higher res cached sources available for me to watch immediately so going with TB gives no advantage.

I’m getting same cached links in torbox that I get with realdebrid with the bootstrapper addons (not Torbox addon) and I would say there is a huge advantage which is price. TB is 36 for the year and premiumize is 80. We will agree to disagree and I will quit commenting.

In hopes of diffusing a little here (at the end of the day we all just wanna watch stuff ), I will say that I honestly think having one debrid is enough. The big three for that as of right now are PM, RD and TB. More than one of those is overkill and a strain on the wallet that’s not needed
If you already have any one of those, there is no need to get another. It would be like having a Netflix account and saying hey, let me make another paid Netflix account. As you say yourself, the cache for mainstream, new releases is pretty much the same.
And for more obscure content, there is a high chance that all of those services will require the user manually caching the file.
I have started with RD many years ago, then left them for a good Premiumize deal, and then left that for a good recurring Torbox deal. Who knows how the landscape of providers will change in the future?

I got the Premiumize 2 yr deal which worked out to less than than $4 cdn/mth and consistently gives me 4K cached sources when TB doesn’t on new series episode releases.

I can wait a day or 2. How new is new to you? Wish their reg price was always at that.

New is the day a weekly series episode is released. Yes if this doesn’t matter to you then TB is fine. They do seem to have the higher res releases after a couple of days or so.

Signed up for TB for the year to test. They gave me 15 mo. for $28.80($1.92) using PayPal.

Crypto button wasn’t available. I did change my VPN to S. Africa in hopes of using CC and it didn’t work. I like the ease of use. It works just fine. I will let the other 2 debrid services lapse. I have it on the Crew, Umbrella, and POV.

Stremio works great too.

I had the same experience paying last year and used the support widget to ask back then. It looks like the previous payment processor they used last year kind of screwed them over. It’s probably similar to how Real-Debrid had to suddenly remove Amazon Pay from their options, that’s just part of this legal gray area I guess. The new one has really serious fraud protection, so by default VPNs don’t work for first time payment. Once the subscription is active though, you can switch between tiers and payment methods without having to deactivate anything.
I personally use Stremio mostly instead of Kodi, but I did read that the POV addon is the one with the easiest Torbox integration since its developer is actively working together with them.
