Hmm, I know screenshots arenāt okay here, but would you mind giving me an example of a movie/series that gives you such trouble, so I can check my results using the addon and compare? Or maybe your current settings for the Torbox addon that you have set under the integration settings.
There should be no need for instructions for the search in Stremio, since it is as simple as adding the addon. The instructions on TBās site are for in-depth setups that include adding your own self-hosted custom search engines, which is entirely unnecessary for regular users who just want to stream. Thereās no other component to it, the Pro tier automatically includes Usenet in the results it finds.
When something says Instant, it will play instantly since it is cached. It is the same as when you pick a RD+ file, and on your Real-Debrid dashboard that link shows up in your download history.
It works the exact same way for Torbox. Everything that is happening as far as downloads are concerned is happening on their servers, not your device or connection.
There has to be something settings related, since you say newly released content is giving you problems. For example, you need to include āUnknownā for everything, including resolution, quality, language etc., or your results wonāt work properly. If anything, Torbox really lacks older cached things because other services are 10+ years older than them, but everything newly released gets cached instantly, and with Usenet access especially, you should see the best results earlier than with other debrid services, since Usenet has those files earlier than public torrent trackers.

I have tested this On 4 different devices with exactly the same results. Troy has tested it on similar devices but with much better results using Kodi. Itās a Stremio issue only on Android/Google TV, Aosp, Android various releases from 12 to 16. Working with TorBox to see what can be done. So thanks for your offer for assistance but will stick with just one route for now as frustration and disappointment levels are through the roof as it is. Search in stremio with torbox simply does not work as they describe, nor much else. I know what Iām doing with settings in Stremio addons I have been at it for years. Every other addon I use works just fine and does as advertised. Trust me settings are done correctly, it isnāt me. No usenet sources ever showing, and results are way behind other Debrid services. I know what it should be, but trust me it isnāt at all. Definately no new releases at all. In order to give you a screenshot of my integration settings would take way to many as it only shows one setting at a time I could list them I guess.
Integration settings:
Qualities to Show>all but cam and Dolby Vision
Resolutions to show>Unknown -HD-UHD
Languages>Unknown & English
Cache Settings> Cache Only
Seeding>Never
Sort Settings> Resolution
Sort Stream Type Settings> Usenet First

Hey Miki thanks for the detailed settings! I can see the issue, for Usenet, the cache settings have to be set to cached & download, not just cache only. I would also maybe order by size instead of resolution, since the biggest size usually means the best quality and resolution anyway, but thatās personal preference.
You will find a setting called ā**Wait for uncached Usenet downloadsā in the integration settings. Turn that on, as well as the cache & download thing I mentioned before.
The reason is that a lot of Usenet downloads arenāt cached, since the Pro tier has fewer users. However, Usenet means things get cached in seconds. The results will be labelled ācache and playā instead of āInstantā. I have received your private message where you showed me the series in question, and have sent you a comparison screenshot with my results. It is a good example because the episode you gave as an example is from 2 days ago. Youāll find that with Usenet there are even a few more results than with other addons in this case.

Thank you for the great video. Iāve been happy with RD, but will take a look at this one.
I made the changes and it worked for all of 2 episodes for 2 different series and now itās back to exactly the way it was. RD and PM both have more sources available and for higher res. TB either has no sources or just say 3 with lower res. Damn back to the frustration level.

If you are using Stremio I would certainly wait on improvements to TorBox before adding it. Apparently it works well in Kodi but not so much in Stremio. Free addons provide newer sources with better res to access. Yes if you are willing to wait for a day or two after a series episode is released then you may find a good quality release available for you to access. Itās about the same with usenet, ya have to wait to get a good source. I have been struggling for days with this and done everything possible with zero success and Iām far from a beginner when it comes to using Stremio. I am not a Kodi fan but may have to venture into that world again and add a Troy fork along with umbrella just to see what TorBox can really do as an addon. Have a great buffer free weekend everyone

I have gotten away from Kodi and switched to Stremio, Kodi was my go to for yrs, will have to take a second look.
I am a Kodi user and I love it. I also have Stremio, but use it only as a backup. I only went with Stremio because an update to my now scrapped MeCool box caused Kodi to not work anymore. Now with the the ONN 4K Pro, I am back to Kodi. It just works for me. To each his own. I have found that sometimes I can find what I want on Stremio when it isnāt found on Kodi. So having Stremio as a back up pays off.
Only if you want to use TorBox and donāt expect new TV series to be available to you quickly. Otherwise other Stremio addons find the series in a timely fashion at the best possible resolution.
Make sure to not only use the Torbox addon. Your RD and PM results are there because Torrentio finds them. Add your Torbox API key to Torrentio and you will see that itās got the same content cached as RD and PM.
Every addon uses a different search mechanism and scrapes different sites. The Torbox addon is a bonus on top of what it offers as a debrid service, it is not at all intended to be the only way to use Torbox with Stremio. As with any other debrid, you get the API key and then use that with every addon that supports it

Thereās a big misconception here. When saying āother Stremio addonsā find things, those are addons like Torrentio, Comet, Mediafusion etc.
Torbox is NOT just an addon. It is a debrid service like all the others. You get an API key that you can use with any of those addons, exactly how it works for PM, RD etc., and you will see the same cached results on all of them 99% of the time for new releases. I have personally compared with RD, PM, and TB.
Saying Torbox doesnāt find enough but only using its addon is an unfair comparison, especially since other providers donāt offer any addons whatsoever. It is just one of many addons that should be used. It was added as an easy-to-add addon later into the serviceās lifetime. At its heart, it is a debrid service like all the others.
So for those that are sceptic, you never have to even touch the Torbox addon. You can sign up, get your API key, paste it into Torrentio and thatās it. There are simply heaps more features and only selectively using them will of course sabotage the results.

Iāve had great success with Torbox using only torrentio and comet in Stremio. Iām getting TV show releases on same day just fine.
