šŸ† Better Alternative to Real-Debrid & Premiumize? + Less Expensive

Yes I’m having the same problem with Umbrella as well.

I used a prepaid Visa GC with no issues with TB. Sadly, the opposite luck with RD.

I also have never used Bootstrapper, but here’s a few things I need answered from this conversation (relative to Stremio):

  1. I recently renewed Real-Debrid and I’m good until March 2026. Can Torbox and Real-Debrid co- exist on Stremio without causing issues.

  2. If I use Bootstrapper to install Torbox, will my current library be wiped out (or is that what the backup is for)? Seems that Bootstrapper is the way to go if you’re going for a fresh start (i.e., clean library).

Thanx, Troy, as always, for staying on top of the latest developments!

Bootstrapper will indeed wipe out your existing addon setup. I have done it differently and left all my configured addons in pace and added TB as just another addon. So I have Torrentio by itself with an RD one, a PM one and the same for Comet, Media Fusion and Jacketio, and then TB added on the end. They all work perfectly together within Stremio and provide me with many options to obtain a source to play should one go down, and as an added bonus also provides me the option to look at each source that is scraped and find the one with the best source I want which is usually HDR10+ with Dolby Atmos. Not every addon has the same sources it scrapes and I have given myself the chance to get the best possible one there is presently available. Hope this helps. Oh and just to be sure, you can add TB to Stremio in your TB Dashboard, using the button they provide, and after doing a setup. But I recommend just leaving the setup as is, until you do some more reading and learn what each setting will do. You can also join their Discord channel to ask further questions and get help. They do provide a tutorial. Once you have the setup done, and the addon installed in Stremio, any changes you make are automatically applied to Stremio without you doing anything else. The same goes for updates. Updates will be done in your Dashboard and automatically applied to the Stremio addon. Have a buffer free day.

Thanx, Miki!! Very thorough and detailed explanation!!

At first glance it appears that the TB option appears on the outdated version of Umbrella but has been removed from version 6.7.49.

Maybe try reinstalling Umbrella, it should be showing. Also just noticed it updated again today 6.7.50 and Torbox is showing on mine. Could also force stop Kodi and clear cache.

Ok so I am super confused by this search stuff. I have TB addon installed in Stremio with usenet in its source options and honestly it doesn’t search anything. I open the search and all I get is a red x on the search line. It claims you can search from within the Stremio app, ummmm no you can’t unless of course they mean in Stremio ON A COMPUTER and if so they should say so. So even though TB is integrated with usenet so far my experience is that it does not find more sources than RD or PM and certainly doesn’t find better res sources. So in order to fully get the usenet experience must I also get and install the ā€œeasynewsā€ Stremioā€ addon? Hopefully my experience will improve over time with this as so far I don’t accept the hype.

I have no idea how Torbox add works since I only have the basic version and only use the regular debrid with Torbox and use Easynews for Usenet. I think they are using another service and just passing their search through. I don’t know how their streaming of Usenet works.

To use the the Easynews sub you would subscribe to Newshosting, go to your dashboard and activate your Easynews sub and then go to set up your Easynews addon and input your Easynews credentials.

https://stremio-addons.com/?q=easynews

From there it will act like any other Stremio addon.

Ok tx @ScoobyDoosSpots but you’ll have to forgive me, if at this point, I choose not to spend any more money to get another Stremio addon with grandiose claims of vast improvements in finding good sources, only to find it just isn’t so. For me usenet is not all it’s cracked up to be.

@PapaS Do you know of any other Kodi add ons that TB works on? Thanks.

I bought 3 months thru PayPal.

It is amazing for downloading but only ok for streaming because the obfuscated files make it hard to search without a true indexer, so you don’t get full access to all of the content streaming. It is more on the niche side.

I get value out of it because I download, stream a little and use the VPN.

Maybe Troy can do a video to uncomplicate it

According to those who know the inner-workings of these addons, POV is one of the best in terms of integrating heavily with TorBox. But, as you can see in the video above, plenty of links through Umbrella as well.

I think this is where my issue arises, I don’t download and I don’t watch old stuff and that seems to be where these things are useful. I have had luck if say a series or Video is weeks, months or years old and that isn’t what I use this for. I didn’t spend thousands of dollars to get good picture and sound Only to hunt for SD releases. So if it doesn’t give me the option for the newest stuff in 1080 or better then IMHO it’s a waste of money. Unfortunately thus far, my experience has been less than stellar for my needs.

Does TB find links in Syncler just as fast as POV?Sorry If I’m a little off topic with that question.
