Talk to me
I thought Love at First Sight was charming too!
The last year was kinda crappy for films. Maybe TopGun: Maverick, because it was delayed so much, it was pretty good. Nothing this past year actually comes to mind as a *favorite"
Taylor Swift…YUMMY.
Covenant
Where the Crowdads sing.
I loved “Where the Crawdads sing”. I’d forgotten about that one. Tx. Think I’ll rewatch that this week.
Not a great year for films. But The Holdovers and A Man Called Otto both well made and uplifting.
On a Wing and a Prayer
Guy Ritchie’s The Covenant
I just saw :
Fool Me Once
2024 ‧ Thriller ‧ 1 season
Loved it!
Found it extremely boring.
Oppenheimer was at the top of my list. I didn’t think I’d like it and it would be boring until I watched it. It is an amazing movie. I would recommend that movie for all adults to watch.
Society of the Snow. Andes 1972 plane crash. Terrific movie.
Otto was really good.
Kandahar well worth the time great movie
I haven’t watched it yet, but Taylor Swift is extremely talented and I will definitely watch the Eras movie. I enjoy live high level performance regardless of genre from Chris Stapleton to Rush to Bill Evans to The Pentatonix to Little Feat, etc.
Saltburn was released in 2023 though I just watched it. Not normally my cup of tea, ahem even tho’ I’m English. That’s because there was a spectrum of sexual taboos broken by a guest in the privileged classes and within them, all “in the best possible taste!” as Kenny Everett used to say.
In some ways, this movie was very thought provoking!
To satisfy my inner detective of the possible motive for such gross crimes and antics, I referred to an article about the Minotaur in the Labyrinth on Crete, as apparently this is replicated in the garden maze, and the central statue features as a witnessing symbol in the culminating moment.
It helped to try to make sense of the seemingly primeval destructive force, which returned to Earth from Ancient Times to wreak havoc in the lives of the inhabitants of Saltburn.
