Oppenheimer my favorite for 2023
Pretty good movie, but I think they could improve the ending.
Now I have to watch out for aliens stealing my cat!
As do I. Not a lot of great sci fi this year that I can think of. Nothing like the first Avatar or The Martian.
Nicholas Cage has a new movie called Dream Scenario that i thought was very entertaining.
Reptile
I think Ol’ Nick is every movie ever made…errrr or was it…
Killers of the flower moon, and Godzilla minus one.Oppenheimer was good but so long and boring at times.
Wasn’t much to like. Oppenheimer was the best of a really lackluster year
And not one person saying that the Barbie movie was the greatest movie of the year? Or the Taylor Swift concert, no?
Finestkind was the best movie i’ve seen in awhile…can’t go wrong with anything Tommy Lee Jones is in and Ben Foster is a rising star…excellent flick
Oppenheimer was a standout.
Shift was my favorite, by far.
What are you people talking about? It was a fantastic year for movies and if you can’t find something to interest in 2023, then you won’t in any movie year. Amongst the standouts were
-
Oppenheimer - an amazing movie, especially when you consider that it was 3 hrs long, concerned a number of subjects that were fairly dry to audience members with a limited science background and really was primarily dialogue yet was riveting from start to finish.
-
Talk To Me - excellent horror\suspense, even more surprising when you consider it was done on a shoestring budget by a couple of YouTubers
-
Sisu - terrific revenge-oriented action
-
Dungeons & Dragon: Honor Among Thieves - great fun and action without having to be a D&D player to get it
-
A Haunting in Venice - I think the best of the trilogy with Kenneth Brannagh as Hercule Poirot
-
Blackberry
-
Anatomy of a Fall
-
The Zone of Interest
-
Past Lives
-
Godzilla Minus One
-
The Killer
-
The Beasts
-
Huesera: The Bone Woman
-
They Cloned Tyrone
-
Killers of the Flower Moon
-
The Holdovers
-
M3gan
-
Godland
just to name a few that I really enjoyed. For me, it was definitely a year when I had some of my biggest movie disappointments…Indiana Jones was just so mediocre - a really crappy way to end the franchise…Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Pt.1 was a good action movie but too many things rang untrue for an MI film…John Wick 4 was ultimately boring - after JW flips the 60th or the 90th henchman and shoots him in the head, you start to yawn…The Flash was just a mess. Just my take - I appreciate the discussion
A Million Miles Away is a pleasant surprise and a true story. Give it a look. Happy New Year and thanks for all you do!
They Cloned Tyrone
I thought Reptile was fantastic!
