Warning notice from Real-Debrid

Trying to download a movie through real-debrid. Suddenly I get a “Sharing” warning. Can’t understand the gobbledy-i-gook. What have I done?

Are you sharing your RD account with anyone or are you using it at the same time with 2 different IP addresses?

That’s what happened to me, two addresses… apparently we had two devices streaming from two different VPN addresses, so the warning letter.

This is exactly what has happened to me… did you find a solution? Were you able to modify how you do a download to avoid another warning?

If you are getting a warning notice from RD my guess is you are either sharing your account with others or logged into the same account on multiple IP addresses. I just went into my watched history in RD and downloaded a few shows I recently watch. No notice. Check to make sure you are not using RD on different IP addresses on your devices

Agree with @elginherd same with me. I just ensure that I am always connecting to same server in Surfshark when at home and away and have never had any problems. Real-Debrid treats compatible VPNs like an ISP. After connecting to RD with VPN on if you go into your Real-Debrid account where it lists your Internet Service Provider it will provide name of your VPN service instead…at least that’s the case for me. It shows as Surfshark VPN. I’ve had account termination in the past due to “sharing locations/account” but since I started doing this, haven’t had any problems.

I must be doing different because I have 2 different households, in different statesm, using stremio with RD+, and also through kodi with RD authorization, and have never had a problem. Is that what you mean by downloading, or in your definition of downloading are you talking about something you do directly through RD?

Around 3-4 months ago it was time to change our router anyway so I ended up with an Asus 3000 that has a built in client to incorporate either Wireguard & OpenVPN servers. So our whole house shows the same public IP.

(I bought a Cudy router first and it’s UI is much better and more agnostic regarding the whatever VPN sub you have than Asus’s; however, it turned out to be a POS because it quit communicating with the modem about a month after I installed it. Asus pushes SS, but it works great with ProtonVPN.)

I think it must be the latter of these two.
I use Ipvanish on my Nvidia and Norton on my computer. I have been using the two together to download through Real-debrid. Adebeede

Thanks MarkxG… I will look into this method. Watch a movie with real-debrid. Then switch off my Nvidea, go to real-debrid on my computer, downloads/history and try to download from there. Is this basically what you do?.. adebeede

Thanks Tico259, I’m talking about downloading an old movie through Kodi with real-debrid and at the same time using my computer to save this to my hard drive… adebeede

I’m not sure I understand your question but why are you downloading? The only reason I downloaded was to try to recreate why others were getting warnings as a test. I am not sure if a VPN is causing this and won’t know because I do not use a VPN

OK, the way I do it is to download movie via kodi to a flashdrive on my pc, then transfer from flashdrive to harddrive if I want to save it on my pc, but actually I usually just leave it on the flashdrive and use that when needed. I don’t do it often but will do it prior to a plane trip or road trip. I have never recieved a RD warning when I download a movie/show from kodi.

Don’t need a VPN with Real Debrid while streaming. I don’t know about downloading. Go into your account settings on the website and make sure the connection is secure. But if you use the same device to start the stream and then download it you eliminate this problem. Or as said above, make sure all devices are connected to the same server.

I followed Troy’s video with Surfshark and use my real debrid service both at my primary residence and vacation home with no problems whatsoever.

Yes I get something similar. If it tries to download at 1080 I gett message -setting - done, however downloading at 720 it usually works but will not renew my Real Debrid subscription.
Too bad as it used to work like a hot damn.

The problem isn’t changing locations…the problem occurs if there are two or more devices simultaneously accessing RD from different addresses.
Thus, if two devices have VPNs engaged while in the same residence, the warning may come.

I’ve been warned twice myself because I used my Real-Debrid account on my son’s Firestick at his apartment. Totally different ip address even though we both have Surf Shark. After that happened a second time, I download everything, my son’s and others, at my house only. Haven’t had a warning since, and that was over a year ago.
