Walmart Releases All-New 2026 Onn 4K Pro (V2)

I got an nVidia Shield Pro (2019) just before Christmas. I was coming from firesticks (4k max) and Onn (4k Plus) devices. Honestly, I noticed zero differences. I like the Shield but it kept crashing when playing videos on from my NAS on Kodi (never had this problem before or since). So I returned it and will probably try the new Onn 4K Pro if and when they come to my local Wally World.

In description on Walmart site it says it cannot be circumvented with a VPN. Only works in USA and Puerto Rico.

But that could be all smoke and mirrors if you just look up on this site you can set your cell phone as a hotspot with a VPN in US to first set it up there is more to it so it’s good to look it up.

EXACTLY!! I was just having this conversation with a friend. People want all the unnecessary bells and whistles for the very low price of 50 bucks

I never had any luck with setting up a hotspot in Mexico. I thought I followed all instructions correctly but I never had any luck. Having said the previous I must admit I am not as savvy as other people on this site. Thanks everyone, especially Troy.

Can you still record with 2.0 ? Or use Sparkle timeshift on a usb with 2.0 ? Thanks

You can but the transfer speed is slow and for a HDR 10+ or Dolby Vision the quality may not be the best. I would say 1080 would be the highest you could safely do without problems to get a good recording.

Mr. Solo,
I would appreciate your professional recommendation regarding my next device upgrade. Should I consider transitioning to the new Onn 4K Pro V2, or would the BuzzTV G‑Series be a more suitable option? I am currently using the Onn 4K Pro and am evaluating the most appropriate path forward. If you believe there is not a significant performance improvement between my current device and either of these options, please feel free to advise that an upgrade is unnecessary.

Additionally, I want to express my sincere gratitude for providing a space where I feel comfortable and secure discussing my personal streaming devices. Your efforts in fostering such an environment are truly appreciated.

Miki,
Thank you as well for your outstanding support. Your guidance on the more intricate configuration aspects of API integrations with leading streaming applications has been invaluable. You consistently serve as an exceptional source of information.

Not Mr. Troy

But I’ll weigh in anyway. If you are happy with your ONN 4K Pro (Many of us are including me!) I see no reason to get the V2 or any other box. The ONN 4K Pro is one of the BEST streaming boxes out there

Ahh, C’Mon….

i don’t like the new AI nonsense. even if you disable microphone. Seen to many Terminator movies lol.

Scored one today at Wal-Mart in Lake Havasu, Arizona, but they only had one left after I got mine.

Seems they’re slowly headed towards the east coast. Ill be glad when they are online and available for delivery. Ill score me a few then (for testing purposes of course…)

A US onn will only work in Canada if it’s ā€œpreparedā€ in the US and then you can use it in Canada

Not true. Somewhere here are the instructions to use a hotspot and a vpn to reg it in the US from Canada

I’m kinda baffled (pretty typical of me  ) why these are supposed to be locked to the US. It sure seems that they would be losing a lot of sells due to this.

I’m wondering if gOOgle has something to do with this?

I’m gonna disagree on that one. I use a usb 3 to ethernet adapter on my current 4k Pros because with the standard ethernet port I’m topping out at less than 100 down. I know it seems like that should be plenty, but that’s peak and I just find that on that connection I get a lot more buffering. With the USB 3 adapter I’m 300-400 and I rarely have any buffering. Your mileage may vary, I guess, but for me this is a deal-breaker.

Out OF STOCK EVERYWHERE IN MY AREA.

I was ready to try something new.

Bummer.
