Walmart Onn Streaming Boxes Sell Out as Many Ditch Fire TV

I really don’t believe Amazon cares at all….

It’s crazy how scarce the Onn 4K Pro & Plus have become. A couple months ago I could find them at my local Walmart no problem. I just did an online search across like 50 Walmart locations within 1 hour of my house and can’t find a single Pro or Plus (just the older models). Hopefully they are coming out with a new updated model with refreshed specs and that’s the major reason why the supply has been restricted.

No 4K Plus near me but plenty of HD sticks which would be fine for the casual user.

If you absolutely need an ONN you can buy them on Amazon (How ironic is that? ) but you will pay a higher price

Purchased an Onn 4K Pro to watch the 24 Olympics at the beach.

Its been a solid performer.

But is it a “Gold Medalist”?

I looked for the 4K Plus at my local Walmart, slightly after Christmas…Ok, figured it would be sold out being the time of year…but, the website said my store had it…So I go there, and they didn’t…so I went back home and ordered from the store site for pick up (they said it was in stock, so it went through)

Anyway, I got an email a few hours later saying it was pushed to the next day…Next day, they said that it was no longer in stock, but will ship to me when it becomes available…I think I ended up receiving it a few days later…

So yeah, the Firestick/Amazon rumors were going around at that time as well, but holiday may have contributed too…

I’m still messing with the one I have (time is not my friend lately) but my plan was to get another one or two once I got my current one the way I want and to put on other TVs in the house…not there yet, so I haven’t looked at availability at my store…

Way to make them sell out even faster . I was going to pick up 12 in Arkansas today and they are gone already. Picking up 12 more in rural Oklahoma tomorrow though. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Do I have to reset to factory defaults and start again?

I think the answer is yes. A bit more work but gets you the result you are after.

These are plenty of apps that work on the 10 year old 2nd gen FireTV box. It’s still pretty much the fastest device out there for our (single core) use.

I have no problem with the firestick on 2 out of 3 TVs, and my 3rd has little problems, but I don’t watch it much.

Just sayin

Wow, I’m still amazed by how many people didn’t get rid of Fire sticks yrs ago.

@sktn77a I really like them but I only have two TVs and I have two android boxes I’m using. Both of the fire TV cubes are hacked so they’ll be good for a while.

I’ll block updates on 5 of them if you give me the 6th one. I have a spare router that blocks amazon updates so the process Troy gave us can be applied. I have 3 4k running that stay nicely behind the Bezos curse

OMG bad timing. I literally just cleaned out my electronics drawer yesterday and through them all down the garbage shute.

Isn’t the plus a little more powerful/memory than the Pro anyway?

I think I bought 5 ONN 4ks when they first came out a couple years ago and thought I kind of shorted by cousin considering the nice Christmas present he gave me, so threw an unopened one in – along with the TP site address. He’s a little challenged so I hope he doesn’t get into trouble lol. Have a shoebox full of firesticks including a cube…might have a hammer party.

Probably a good place for them.

Sorry but I figured noone wanted them and It’s my spring cleaning of electronic junk time.
