Different test apps use different servers. Some use single. Some use multi. No two give identical results. I just make it a practivce to use 1 app and stick with it.
Miki, this is in the write for the remote that you listed.
Controls up to 3 separate devices
Works with all major brand TVs, soundbars, and streaming boxes such as Roku and Apple TV (not including Roku Streaming stick)
Soft rubber touch design
IR signal technology
2 AAA batteries included
This remote can not connect RF/BT/WIFI device, such as Roku Stick, Fire TV Stick, Fire TV cube and onn 4K Streaming box 2023.
This remote does not support control multiple devices (TV, streaming, DVD etc) at meantime. Only one device is supported at once setup.
After connection, occasionally some buttons may working while others do not. Please try another code that might work better for your device model, or utilize the Learning function to capture commands from the original remote control if it supports learning function.
Somethings odd as there isn’t any write in that link that I see and for me it clearly states steeaming, tv and soundbar. Odd, but then that’s ONN for ya.
To be honest id rather have one app that i know is accurate and use it.
Unfortunately no way to really tell which one is accurate.
Thats the frustrating part.
Got it. Wow they don’t make it clear do they. Tx for the clarification @JerryJ
It is nice, but damn you have to dig deep or you’ll waste your money.
Miki, I quite possibly could be wrong. (I know, never you say, right?
)
Maybe the one that I have was strictly a IR remote. I will see if I can snag the one that you first listed and report back. I actually love the layout on this remote.
All good. I found the info and you’re right. Dig deep and read everything or you’ll waste money. ONN doesn’t make it easy.
Thanks JP, for the tip…Other option I was thinking about was a tiny drop of crazy glue on it to prevent it from going down on an accident…What do you think of that?
I dont recommend crazy glue.
Can’t the button be disabled using the Button Mapper app? I used it to change my Netflix button to a Mute button on my Nvidia shield. I am prett sure there is an option to disable.
Miki, I purchased this same remote from Walmart, tried everything to get this to pair with my Onn 4K BOX, nothing worked, I followed the instructions that came with the remote with no luck, my Onn 4K pro also does not work for one of my TV RCA. Going to try one of my 3 FS remotes that I have lying around now that I have all my 3 TV with Nvida Shield TV Pro, Onn 4k and Onn 4K Pro
Lo and behold, got my FS remote paired to my Onn 4K Pro and it let me program my RCA TV power and volume buttons NICE
Thats awesome. I was going to ask if you made sure you updated your Onn remotes when setting up.
When I set the Pro box up there was an update for the box but not the remote, but for my Onn 4k there was an box update and a remote update, after the remote update it still would not pair with my RCA TV.
Ok. I just set up my second Onn Pro and had 2 remote updates. Maybe check for software updates.
But as long as you found a solution it really doesn’t matter.
Thanks, I’ll look into that and Troy my address this…THX
Which FS remote worked for you? I had heard that the FS 4k max remote works but I sure don’t want to buy the FS just for the remote,.
JerryJ. yes the FS 4K Max is the one that I used, I have 4 FS now that I look at them. 1 4k, 2 4k Max and 1 4k Max 2nd gen
JPM69, I have checked for updates and as far as I can remember I only had 1 update when I set my box up, I have been checking for more over the last 2 days and the systems tells me that I am up today with my software.
