I was using Analiti. By the way my max speed without the vpn is about 120Mbps so the Nvidia seems to get the full force every so often.
I found the best way to get the fastest speed results is to select a server from the closest city to your location and picking one that has a low ping and load %.
But i always say only to worry about the speed results if you are having issues such as buffering with your streaming. Depending on which speed tester you use will also change your results as well. Some will give you amazing speeds and some will have you look like a dial up connection when using a vpn.
Interesting, I usually get close to the same speeds no matter what device or speed test I use. Perhaps because I don’t use a VPN? I just googled speed Test and tested the top 3 search results. My results down were 370 Mbps, 366, and 371
Yeah, I am having issues with extreme buffering at times which is why I would like to find a way to resolve this. If I can get RD links, I will sometimes not use the vpn, but many of the things I watch don’t come up with many, if any RD links, so I use the vpn. I wish I had money to buy a bigger/better box but I just don’t at the moment. I also wish that I had the ability to focus enough to learn more about how all of this works and why I get 200mbps at times and only 40-50 at times. The issue is that when I use the vpn, it brings it down to less than 10 and that is an issue.
If you call IPVanish on the phone u can easily make a deal. I’ve done it twice and got a deal both times. It’s a guy from Indian but I understood him and he was great
I have received a ‘Forwarded Notice of Alleged Copyright Infringement’ from my ISP; this is the second one I have gotten. I use surfshark on all my devices, TV’s, laptop, phones, etc. What’s the deal?? How are they getting my IP address and knowing its ‘mine’ if i’m going thru a VPN?
HI Frogisco, I can’t answer your question but I can make a suggestion, if I may.
If you don’t already have a internet speed checker, like Analiti, you should get one. When you first start your device, run a speed test with your VPN on, then run a speed test with your VPN off. Your speed with VPN on should be about half the speed with the VPN off. This way you can confirm that your VPN in on and working. Also, load up the App called “Monitor Dot”. You can find that in the TroyPoint Toolbox.

There are certain VPNs where your speed is not affected or very little. For me both Proton and Nord give me either no drop in speed or say just 10 or so. Some of that may be protocols and some may be coding. Both suppliers are more expensive than SS.
No way this can happen if vpn is connected. Probably one of your streaming boxes not connected to vpn or it become disconnected and you didn’t have kill switch enabled and you can do that in settings. I used to get these letters too but since using surfshark haven’t had one in three years.
Not really a reply just a question have an android 16 TV box that won’t let me connect windscribe so I tried Proton the same problem, all my other devices and previous Android box connect without a problem, could it be Google TV that came pre installed and is there a way around the problem.
I wouldn’t use IPVanish if they gave it away. I will not work without having the Goggle Play Store active. So is Google monitoring my traffic? Some say all VPNs work like that.
That seems to be only the way IPVanish works. I have and used Surfshark and Bitdefender’s VPNs downloaded from Google Play Store. They work fine when I disable or forced closed Google Play Store as a matter of fact I disable all Google services on my Nvidia Shield TV Pro.
They splash messages on the screen about this and that will not work but, everything works just fine.

The other two VPNs work just fine with Google shut down.
I connected IPVanish three times about this issue, and I’m still waiting for a replay.
P.S I also don’t give Google any permissions except were they are grayed out.
I’ve been seeing this Surfshark push on Troypoint for a long time and need to put this out there. Folks, I know everyone trusts products that appear to rate well but you need to look deeper, for many reasons. Here’s the lowdown on Surfshark that anyone can research for themselves. Just don’t go to a ‘review site’ to do it.
Surfshark VPN has bad policies and business practices. Its privacy policy and terms of service clearly state that the company can collect a significant amount of your personal information for various reasons and share it with third parties. They even retain your IP address and the VPN servers you connected to for 15 minutes after disconnecting. They’re under the same corporate umbrella as NordVPN and a VPN review site that rates both services highly, presenting a conflict of interest. Additionally, although the company publishes third-party security and privacy policy audits, they aren’t conducted very frequently, and some have a limited scope.
There are a few VPN’s that actually do protect your data but Surfshark is one to steer clear of.
