You can also get downloader through apk pure off your browser.
thats what I did, not an issue for side loading

When you flip the root switch you will be directed to a download and install and reboot. A warning that flipping the switch will void the warranty(normal for this action)ā¦ Once root you will see why because you can do as you please most notably in the file manager where you can do whatever you please. This is where you can mess things up fast if you are not sure what you are doing. You can always flip the root switch off but warranty is long gone at this point

The silent root option is what I use and there were no issues.

Root really is safe unless you go in like a bull in a china closet 
I wouldnāt worry about the warranty. By the time you pay to send it back and get it returned to you the Chicago Cubs will have won another 100 year World Series!

I had one issue. The internet(eth) kept disconnecting every few mins more or lessā¦So I scoured the web about the causeā¦checked router settingsā¦even tried talking to it ā¦ and then I changed the cable and poof it was fixed

I got my am7 up still trying to figure everything out alot different than the shield. So far I got my Troy Point app ipvanish SD stremio syncler Kodi addons but have a problem with the remote canāt find my mini wireless keyboard but would like to see how to change remote control to Bluetooth instead. Had to stop not feeling well today must be from all the excitement

Thanks @sim_bill I wouldnāt suggest APKPure for Downloader as they only have 1.4.2. The one we are hosting for our tutorial is the latest at 1.4.4 which works with Android 11. 1.4.2 doesnāt work with Android 11 unfortunately.

yea, Iām glad I picked up the mouse clicker 
ā¦it helps. I can use the mouse from my computer and keyboard but it always drops bt connection. Might pick up a dongle.

Roger that. Keeping up with these operating system upgrades and what you can and canāt download will soon require a score card! My devices are all android 9.0. Hopefully, future android app updates will continue without limiting what we can load on our devices.

Got my Ugoos AM6B-Plus up and going quickly when I got it. Wireless mini-keyboard makes navigating easier. Rooted it, choosing the āsilentā route.
Can absolutely install and run most anything and still have storage and power to run it.

All in all this box is very nice. As with anything new it takes some getting used to and of course you compare it to your last box and in my case was the Nvidea Shield. As far as control goes ugoos wins hands down simply due to the root switch(for me) but when you go into android settings this is where it really shines. You will find many new things allowing a whole new way to customize that you will not see on other boxes and I am not just talking about the root switchā¦nope its much more than just that and way to numerous for me to do it justice hereā¦its a must see type thing. This Box is fastā¦real fast and the only other box that speed wise that compares to the shield. 64 gigs storage gives you some room to play and 8 Gās ram lets just say Nuf said.

Wow. Other than a brief expedition into the Mecool KM2 Iāve never had the chance to play with such a powerful device. This would certainly give me days of fun learning. I look forward to what else you learn. The root switch is the main reason Iād love to get my grubby paws on one. Keep the tidbits coming @TXRon

Another thing I forgot to mention is that ugoos has a very cool android remote app. Once paired you can mirror your tv onto your phoneā¦kinda a reverse mirror thang

I am impressed with this box also I definitely donāt have the expertise that you have in some things but am also enjoying the setup . I havenāt got to the root part yet as I have not been feeling well again but like Ron the only real problem I have is the remote . I have a new remote/keyboard on the way with one day shipping and am sure that will make life easier. It is very fast and will be much easier with the new keyboard and mouse. Their updates seemed like they would never stop on start up and have heard that they do a great job at keeping up with them. I have been using the stock launcher but probably will be switching to the wolf also. I think they should have more of a startup wizard for people that arenāt that savvy as it is not for beginners. The more people learn how nice these are the more need for a video or something along that line will be needed as the Manuel that comes with it is useless. All in all I am loving the experience with it and have it right next to my sheild hooked up with a remote splitter so I can switch back and forth . Hopefully everyone keeps posting there experiences as there is much to explore and play with
