UGREEN Ethernet Adapter Not Connecting to Onn 4K Pro

I watched Troy’s video about using the UGREEN Ethernet Adapter connected to a Firetv box. Going to settings and selecting wired connection. I have connected the UGREEN device to the Onn 4K Pro box and ethernet to the tv. Cannot seem to find how to connect to wired on the Onn 4K Pro. Went to settings-wifi, turned off wifi, and found ethernet but could not connect. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

When you turn off wifi and its wired you should see just below that it connects automatically.

edit… you dont need an adaptor as it already has an ethernet port.

Unless he is trying to install it for the gigabit port. The Onn Pro only 10/100 ethernet speeds.

I only see 2 usb ports and one hdmi port on my onn 4K pro. That is why I am using the adapter. Connected to the LAN port on my Samsung 55" Smart tv.

I’m confused. Why are you plugging the ethernet cord into the TV and not the Onn Pro box?

P.S. Holy dust on my media server…time to blow it out lmao.

One end of the ethernet cord is plugged into the tv, the other end is plugged into the onn 4K device. In onn settings I disconnected from wifi, but still not able to connect to ethernet. Under the ethernet area it reads “not connected.”

Why not run the ethernet cord from your router direct to the Onn 4k Pro? Or are you looking to get internet on both box and tv at the same time?

The router is about 40 feet from the onn box. I used the tv remote to try and connect to wired, but that did not work also. It seems that it is just not going to work. I will just continue to use wireless wifi. Thanks for everyones suggestions.

It just doesn’t sound to me like you have your network hooked up properly to these devices. If you do and I am misunderstanding, i apologize in advance. But you said you have an ethernet patch cable connecting the onn 4k pro and tv, but that setup isnt correct. Neither device has access to your home wired network at that point, at least not that I have heard from the details.

You are correct. The onn device is setting next to the tv. There is no Ethernet wiring connected to it. So, unless I can get an Ethernet cable connected to it, I am only able to use wireless. Maybe a power line setup?

I’m glad you mentioned it,my ocd was in overload looking at that pic lol

Could be a good solution there if your router is a ways away and you have no port on the wall near.

Powerline adapters work great. I used to use one before I got my current setup. It’s Linksys PLWK400 but actually a Cisco product. I can foresee using it again at some point although you can get then at a really decent price these days.

@hammer …They make Ethernet cables long enough for your setup…just sayin… :sunglasses:

I just did a speed test right next to my living room tv that is about 40 feet from my ASUS router with my cell phone… Download speed is 372Mbps & upload speed is 47.4Mbps. The speed at my tv with onn 4K pro with vpn (Nord) is 48Mbps download and 35Mbps upload. Using Surfshark is virtually the same. Without a vpn 386Mbps download and 51Mbps upload. I have tried the suggested fixed suggested here, but cannot seem to remedy the large differenced in speed with and without a vpn. Is using a vpn that important with a jailbroke device?

The vpn speeds are more than enough for streaming. Are you having buffer issues? And yes using “rouge” apps and iptv it is recomended to use a vpn.
