You don’t need to use the air mouse and can just use the dpad for navigation like you would on ATV.
All your apps are on your Home Screen like ATV.
I rarely used air mouse function on my Ugoos am8 because the dpad is just better when navigating the UI or when using an apps UI.

Go to settings>System>Device Preferences>Panels & Interface>Home Screen and select ULauncher as your launcher. That will greatly reduce any need for the air mouse. You will only need to use it in some apps that require a mouse. ULauncher is like the old Android TV interface before they cluttered it up with ads.
If you install projectivy launcher it is a much better experience, or install the slimbox android tv firmware.
Or the Wolf Launcher, which works great and is highly customizable.

Launchers are my Kryptonite. I installed Wolf Launcher - it bricked my ONN. I installed Projectivity - It bricked my ONN. I stay away from Launchers!

Yup lot’s of people use launchers but for whatever reason they don’t like me. Issue definitely on my end somewhere but as I’m on my home page for like 10 seconds not a big deal

My post a few posts up shows how to activate the built in Ulauncher, It is just a settings toggle and is built in by Ugoos so it would be hard to mess it up.

I really like the SK1 and as a techie can’t wait to see their next box. I see the S905x5M boxes are starting to roll out from other manufactures. It would be nice if they rolled one out with the regular s905x5.
What I would really love but probably won’t ever ger is an updated box with the s922xj chip for an updated dual boot CorELEC box with full DVP7 playback. The AM6B+ works great for the CoreELEC side but the Android side is too dated.
I liked the SK 1 so much, I bought a second for the family room. VERY happy. It will be a long time before 8K becomes mainstream, if ever, in my lifetime. That would be the only thing that would get me off the couch and thinking about another streaming device.

Hey @sim_bill good morning and may you have a happy first day of spring. Got a question for you. What temperature does your SK1 run at? Even with one of my small fans blowing on it my unit gets up to 50 all the time. I have now noticed that my screen will go blank for a couple of seconds after using it for most of the day.
