They probably will just grab a few more from the pile and show them as “available” inventory. Mine was just shipped out. Looks like the AM8 scores just a bit higher than the SK 1 on the Antutu benchmark test. Oh well, I bought this for the 8 k capability, extra RAM/internal memory, android 11 o/s and the high quality hardware anyway. I haven’t forgotten you TxRon and will provide an honest assessment once I get my hands on this.
@PapaS …sound like you may have FOMO in addition to buyarrhea… …
I’m very interested in that new uro2 bluetooth remote. Ive always liked the older ugoos remotes and I might just order that remote for my am8 box.
Same here. Looks like it now has a curser arrow, which I miss on the older Ugoos remote. Should be a bit more functional. Because of that, I use a Rii keyboard remote on my AM6B Plus. My shipment has arrived in Carson, CA, so I should be getting it soon.
If you own a $150 box and you buy a $200 box. Then sell the old box for $100. How much did it cost you for the new box? Lol.
or is it
The sk1?
Yup. The new remote has a curser arrow button.
Mine is still in China.
Don’t feel too bad, I bought my am8 during the Chinese newyear… they party pretty big and stop all mail out going
Delivery is today. I’ll load my stuff onto it and try it out over the weekend, then provide my honest impressions along with how the SK 1 compares with other Ugoos devices.
possibly camel broke down…waiting on a better camel(upgraded shipping camel)
Got mine 12 days after ordering with “expedited” shipping. Chairman Zi must have been in charge at the factory the day it shipped. Nice to have friends in high places.
Well, here is my limited review and impressions of the SK 1 after a day of set up, app installation and testing. 1) This is the largest, heaviest android box I have ever owned. It’s probably due to the very large 5 core AmLogic processor and the gigantic heat sink, which takes up over 2/3rds of the surface underneath the top plastic cover. 2) start up was quick and smooth. It took a bit of time to access Google Playstore along with my other open source apps then download them, but once loaded, they all worked well. 3) I ran an AIDA scan after all my apps were installed and confirmed 6171 MBs of available RAM and 104 GBs of available free memory. The 5 core processors are capable up to 2000 MHZ. I did a limited Antutu benchmark test of sequence read and write capabilities and got a score of 37,851. This model is too new to get an overall score in my Antutu app. 4) This unit does a great job with 4k source material and the remote has very good functionality and responsiveness for a stock clicker. 5) My only down note for the SK 1 is that the plastic case, while very attractive to look at, only has cooling vents on the perimeter of the bottom cover. Because of that, processor temperature is in the range of 42 to 53 degrees Celsius, (too warm for me), which will result in me getting a cooling fan for this unit. I have no temperature issues on my AM6B Plus, which has a metal case and more side vents. Overall Impression - This is a very high quality android device with excellent specs and hardware. That said, there should have been more venting than just the bottom of the plastic box to prevent the processor from heating up to this extent. If you want to get one, be sure to use it with a cooling fan.
Good review and i’m surprised at the plastic housing. All my Ugoos devices are all metal except the x3 and x4 boxes…but they are much cheaper. My am 8 has a large internal heatsink also that makes most of the weight.
I’ll keep you all posted on how my cooling fan works on this. I think Ugoos went for looks over functionality on this box. It is a beautiful looking device.
I fix
Be careful and let us know how to get the top cover off for that. Thanks.
