Indeed incredibly big heatsink, just do a little drilling like Papa said and use a fan.
Looks like there are lock tabs holding the top on. Let us know if it can be removed and how. This guy sure is inquisitive. Wonder if this even worked after he put it back together.
Per your suggestion, got out my drill bits and VERY carefully made 5 holes on the box side closest to the heat sink. Put my 2 infinity fans under it and am back to my processor comfort range at 42 degrees Celsius. I want this puppy to last.
Would love to see a pic of where you made the holes.
Very brave😅 I’m thinking the right side of the box?
Yup. I made 5 pilot holes with a small bit, then very GENTLY opened them up to 3/16”. Went 2/3rds of the way UP on the side panel for the pilot holes to avoid the edge of the circuit board. It is virtually impossible to drill any holes in the bottom panel as the motherboard is sandwiched over a thin metal plate that makes direct contact with the bottom plastic cover. Using 2 fans on the bottom, which are keeping the processor at a steady 42 C temperature while streaming.
Very funny. At first glance I almost thought this was a picture of your “processor” after your “drilling” effort.
Same fan I have under my Shield. Love the multi speed switch.
Yup. Very quiet, high quality and they last a long time.
Beautiful homescreen
Thx. TV Launcher 3 with Aquarium Live 3D wallpaper.
Hi
Where did you purchase the fan from please?
Sorry @sim_bill for the bombardment of questions, is that wallpaper actually moving (live) and where do you get wallpapers that work with that launcher that are live?
@sim_bill does that box have a root switch within settings anywhere?
Queue the Jaws soundtrack.
Amazon
It is a live wallpaper. It is at the Google Playstore and it works with TV Launcher 3.
