Meanwhile I am still waiting for mine to be dispatched after ordering 7 days ago, despite the website saying “Ships in 1-3 days” :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

@JimmyBarry . Was it ordered from Ugoos site or Ali Express. If the latter, that is their normal sales talk, whilst they order from another supplier.

The Chinese sellers always respond with “be patient my dear”, if you chase up your order. :rofl::rofl:

Many years here in Asia have taught me how they work on these sites. Many sellers advertise, but dont hold stock.

There is a term for it, but it escapes me.

And, of course there is also the tracking info, which seems to be 3/4 days behind the actual shipping date.

I hope it arrives soon. It is worth the wait.

I have now resolved the " no internet connection" issue whilst watching iptv.

And i will respond accordingly on another post with an apology to Ugoos, as it was not their device that created the problem.

@TXRon . Update, and i feel duty bound to apologise to Ugoos for suggesting that the " no internet connection" was a device issue.

I managed to contact my IPTV provider and asked the question. They finally got back to me and said that they had encountered inconsistent server connection issues with many providers of their channels.

But, i have never seen this particular error in all of the years i have been with the iptv company.

Sadly these channels were the ones i had tried to watch. Even using my minix seems to have been ok, but coincidentallly for the time when issues were partially resolved.

So, to Ugoos…apologies for a public misdiagnosis post. And to anyone who has ordered the AM 8 or considering buying one, dont be alarmed by my previous post on this issue.

I purchased a new device and on the same day i set it up and, for the first time ever, my iptv experienced the issue that gave me the OSD " no internet connection". So 2+2 made 5🫢

Bought it direct from Ugoos and paid the $40 express shipping. Website said “Dispatches in 1-3 days”, express shipping says 4-10 days delivery. So they’ve got 13 days total before I ask for my shipping fee back! 6 days left…

I bought mine from them as well. 8 days delivery China to Thailand. And that was free delivery on a pre order 17 August.

Despatched 15Sept…arrived 23Sept.

So, hopfully yours will be here in the next couple of days.

Try to get that $40 back. Ive never seen express anything out if china.

Its not the first time that ugoos has shipped that one size fits all plug so I kinda…sorta expected that although I was hopeing for a normal us plug…but I digress. Same thing happened on my ut8 but on my x3’s and x4’s all were US plugs…go figure.

This AM8 rocks and as with most any box once you tame it down it is really nice. The picture of a ball game last night was noticably better on the am8 than my shield. But all things considered im wondering about the placebo effects :rofl:… time will tell. :+1:

Agreed. I am convinced that the picture is better than my Minix U22xj max. But as Ron said, it could just be a placebo effect.:grinning:

It is also noticeable to my ears that the sound volume through my soundbar requires less volume. And it’s very snappy and responsive to both mouse and remote. At first the mouse was not as quick as normal. But now it is fine.

I did try AFR with each of the options, and then with both options enabled as i watched premiership football.

Didn’t observe a great difference and noticeably, if i used the ffwd on screen menu by even 1 minute, the screen went black for a few seconds, then came the audio and a few seconds later the video.

Without AFR enabled, ffwd was instantaneous.

If it ain’t broke don’t try and fix it, seems to apply.
