I am currently watching this British TV series “Patience”. I find it quite interesting. Has anyone else watch it? If so, what are you thoughts?
I haven’t yet, but definately will. I think british crime drama’s are the best.
Me too, I tend to favor them more than US series
I too love British crime shows. I’ll definitely check this out. I just watched Deadwater Fell. I’m a fan of David Tennant. Became a fan watching Broadchurch. Anyhow, thanks for the suggestion!
Just added these two to my watch list
I have found more than one great watch on these Troypoint threads, these are the only threads that I think should be collapsed into one.
I added these to my favorite app watch list. Thanks for the great suggestions.
You are so right, but I had trouble finding the most recent TV & Movie stream… I’ll search harder next time.
Not at all @Mslea, I think the collapsing of threads is getting out of hand in my humble opinion.
I saw one today that was up about 20 hrs, I wanted to reply with a solution but the thread was collapsed and I tried to chase it down through the link but still could not reply.
So maybe my comment was premature, I am glad I got to thank you and the others.
I’ll probably get flamed for this opinion, but I’ve been flamed in message bases back to Usenet so nothing here will wilt me.
I watched the first 4 episodes of Patience last night. Definately worth the watch. The main thing I like about most British crime drama shows, (maybe other genre also, but I mainly watch crime drama’s) is that the actors are so much more real. I like almost everything, but in UK shows they actually hire actors for their acting skills.
Not too interested in crime series. But like British series like The Crown, Victoria, most days I have in the background on my TV Escape from the Country on Smarttube no commercials. It is very calming and show’s properties in England. They truly are better actors. When I go to bed I’m putting on Downton Abby in the background.
I loved the Downton Abbey series. I bringed watched every esposide and each movie special. I’m more into the mystery of the shows I watch. Not really a fan of the crime nor thiller. I’m a who done it watcher. Love when it take a while for me to figuire out who done it.
Thank you for the heads up on this show, I will definitely check it out. There are alot of great shows from the UK . Harlen Cobens are always fantastic!!
If you liked Patience I would suggest Astrid"A Murder in Paris", 4 seasons and it is the show that Patience is a direct copy of. It is much better than Patience, if you can live with subtitles.
Expanding from UK only, Acorn TV features great series from Uk, NZ, Aus, and Canada. Did a search for “best series on Acorn TV” which turned up many great series we have enjoyed. It’s not the end all list but if you like British TV, give it a try!
Dang, I would have checked it out. But I hate watching things and needing to read subtitles throughout the whole show. I can handle a line or two, more than that I lose interest.
Hi @BigDave,
I search Acorn TV guide to search for series on a regular. I have watched wuite a few of them already.
Thanks for the suggestion
Its actually a British copy of the French series. Astrid, Murder in Paris.
At least in Patience, the autistic crime archive expert hasn’t got the same oddball tics etc as her French counterpart Astrid.
So far the UK series has been pretty authentic in following the original French series.
It may be authentic as regards the original French series but it is otherwise nothing but a common stereotype.
I speak as a Brit and also autistic (high-functioning).
The traits the girl exhibits are exaggerated and most autistic people do not experience all the possible spectrum traits.
Also, if every autistic person was like Sherlock Holmes, every police force would have one!
Tics are not a common autistic trait and whoever expressed thanks that Patience doesn’t should be thankful he doesn’t rather than be intolerant of those who do.
Thanks for sharing this @Mslea. I really liked it and would not have known about it if not for you! I learn about lots of great new series on Insider!
Good call @Mslea … like Sherlock Holmes, Patience is a fictional character but it’s good TV !
