Their VPN is feature rich on windows and phones etc.But you can’t do much on streamers like my Shield and Max sticks. It’s always performed well and has very little, if any, impact on down/up speeds. I will switch once my sub runs out though. Their CS got rather combative when I asked why they didn’t fulfill their promise to address the lack of options on streaming devices.
Hey Mslea,
When I was using IPvanish for over 2years I could never navigate the interface when using my BuzzTV 128. This turned me off it and it had no Kill Switch at the time. I reached out to some for support on the issue but never resolved anything. I know you can use Mouse apk but you shouldn’t have to in Android. I switched to SurfShark as I liked what I was hearing from Troypoint. I love having unlimited connections and have even given free account to my best friend in another province. Lately it is having more issues. One is not always connecting quickly to my selected city. Another is the same as other Troypoint insiders have encountered where it will say its detected another VPN when there isn’t one. I am considering jumping ship as well.
Sorry for my lack of posting lately but im working other money projects & still dealing with my loss of vision in my left eye. Over 2 months now. Going back to St Michael’s hospital for my 8th visit on May 31. Wish me luck.

I too have a free Proton account. I use the free vpn when setting up customers Android boxes so im not exposing myself during setup. I just let it connect to the fastest server available at have had zero issues. I just uninstall when setup is completed.
Cheers

Danimal1969,
First, sorry to hear about your health challanges. My pray is that God heals your vision.
IPVanish is good enough for the price I pay. I notice it doesn’t do a good job at bypassing network blocking vpns usage.
I’ve learned to just watch what streams from the apps I have loaded. Just happy to be streaming adfree content
ProtonMail have access to the following email metadata: sender and recipient email addresses, the IP address incoming messages originated from, message subject, and message sent and received times.
STARTMAIL:
Top-class encryption, unlimited aliases, and huge amounts of storage mean that StartMail is a no-brainer for those looking to move away from less secure email providers.
GOOSE VPN FOR THE WIN
Traditional Dutch
As the one and only Dutch VPN we are the only VPN in the EU. Many other VPN providers are located at in favourable places for them. But that is not why we were founded. We want to meet the strict (privacy) requirements of the EU.
We understand very well that you want to know who is behind the company through which all your data goes. After all, we are talking about your data. You don’t want that lying around on the street just like that. We are therefore transparent, personal and reliable, just as you would expect from a VPN provider.

Being different from the rest
Hello, my name is Joeri van de Watering and I am the founder of GOOSE VPN. More than 5 years ago, a VPN solution was still something unknown and especially something very technical. Despite the fact that the risks and dangers on the internet grew and there were more and more blockages, there was still little that the average internet user could use to fully enjoy the internet again. I thought that should be different and that’s how the idea of GOOSE VPN was born.
GOOSE VPN had to stand for open and secure internet, but super simple. I always took my parents as my starting point ;). Easy to install, easy to use, 24/7 technical support and that for a fair price. Now 5 years later, more than 200.000 users worldwide have already used GOOSE VPN and I am proud of that.
I am using Nord right now what does others recommend. I used IP Vanish before Nord .
Nord is a solid VPN, however doesn’t have a kill switch option on Fire or Android TV. It is also pricey unless you get it (or renew it) during promotional pricing.
I have used Express VPN, SurfShark, and Nord. For me Nord wins hands down, but I am not concerned about it not having a kill switch.

SurfShark was good for a long while but lately it has been giving me grief. Installs gettng hung, updates not working correctly etc…For me the one thing that would render any streaming box “Gutterly” useless is the inability to run a VPN. Do Not Argue…I Said FOR ME!!
Im seriously thinking about throwing in the towel on em. I may try the new BitDefender VPN since I have their Antivirus (installed on my and some Clients Stuff) Dont get me wrong, I love this hobby but cant stand it when a simple task like firing up a vpn gets to be a PITA. (wheres that bear???)
Interesting, Nord VPN owns Surfshark, and Ziff Davis owns IP Vanish!
@Reece try NOT using a VPN for a week or so. I can tell from your post you are frustrated with them. Not advocating this but I’ve tried not using a VPN for a week the past 10 years or so and my Cal Ripken streak is still going strong! ![]()
Proton for years.
Thanks Proton’s stuff is solid for sure. If someone has tried the new Bitdefender VPN please chime in and let us know your experience with it. THANKS!
Reece, I’ve not had a lick of trouble with SS. Although I did notice that it seems that the speeds have dropped a bit after the last update. Not much of a drop in speed to affect me, though. I routinely run Analiti everytime I fire up a box just to check the speeds, and to check and see if the little green dot is lying to me.
I’m getting irritated with IPVanish now. I have to dive into it. But It now wants to log out for “session expired” It happens on every device.
Wish I didn’t need VPN but my ISP blocks my IPTV.
