That KM2 sounds haunted. Is your other box a KM2? If so, and you wanted to experiment, you could load the Toolbox on a thumb drive and possibly load the Toolbox to the haunted box from the drive. Of course I may be way out in left field on this.
Is the toolbox down?
nope TROYPOINT Toolbox
WeirdâŚâŚI canât get it via downloader code or url on the stick Iâm setting up. I tried on my phone and it was a no go there too. But your link brought me right there ![]()
Iâve tried a ton of times. Got a captcha once, put in the captcha and it went right back to the 403
if you have a vpn try turning it off and try.
I tried it every which wayâŚâŚ.works fine on my phone, just didnât like that stick I guess ![]()

The 403-Forbidden error has been resolved! After exhausting everything in my bag of tricks, I finally dropped Troy a note explaining the situation, as I assumed that the problem was with the TP Toolbox considering that I could input other shortcut codes and Downloader worked. Troy forwarded my info to Elias (Downloader developer). Elias had me try a few things and send him screen shots for analysis. He indicated that one of the Android System Apps (WebView) was not updated. I opened Google Play Store and scrolled to the icon (my initial) in the upper right hand corner and clicked on it. That identified that an update to WebView was available. I requested it perform the update, but that resulted in a message âCanât install Android System WebViewâ Try aafain, and it is teill dowenât work, see common ways to resolve the problem at âGoogle Play Help. That page provided no useful info (surprise, surprise). Elias suggested a couple of potential fixes. I shut OFF Surfshark. I went to the Android Apps, selected PlayStore, and uninstalled updates. I cleared cache and data. Opened the Playstore and again scrolled to the icon in the upper right and clicked on it. After a few seconds, it identified that the WebView app had an update available. I requested the update, and behold, it updated this time. I backed out of the PlayStore and powercycled the Android box. I then made sure that Surfshark was OFF. I opened Downloader and entered the shortcut code for the TP Toolbox (250931). A miracle occurred! The Toolbox opened normally..
This has been a gut grinder to put is mildly. My sincere appreciation to Troy and Elias.at AFTVNews. Elias was able to put his finger on the root cause of the problem in short order. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
I absolutely love all the contacts Troy has put the effort in to develop. Yet another good reason to become a Patron . Thanks Troy and Thanks Alias.
@Boostmeister awesome to hear Elias got Downloader fixed for you! I will also put together a guide based on what you just indicated in your helpful write-up for others with this problem.
I donât have a web view update available. I have the phone play store.
Yeah Yeah, what @Miki said, Thanks Troy, Thanks Alias, Yeah, Thatâs The TicketâŚ.
Hello @MNBob in your last post you indicated the following.
The fact that it wasnât working but now it is leads me to believe that WebView automatically updated in the background and thatâs why yours started working again.
Thank you, so much, for posting your resolution! It is so appreciated!
When folks post their details and resolution on a problem, it adds to the knowledge base for this site. So thank you! And thank you Troy and Elias!
Thanks for the response! I am actually setting up two Android 14 boxes now. The X88PROX5M is the one that cured itself. The H96Max M9 got a factory reset and is the one where the toolbox is still forbidden.
I just put this video out there. I show how to fix both certified and non-certified Android boxes like yours.
Thanks for the video. My screens and menus are all the phone type. Anyway, I did get to the right place, âMy Apps and Gamesâ. There were 12 updates. All updated except Web View which just did spinning. I am on the open wi-fi.
Thanks for everyoneâs effort on this. Nice find on the Google Play Store.
When Amazon started blocking things, I pulled all my old sticks & Cube to get them updated before they got locked. Three of the 4k MAX updated perfectly. Most of the things were ok with my 2nd gen Cube, except Downloader to TroyPoint TB. Got the 403 error. One of the 4k Max sticks has the same 403 error as well. The other three are fine. The Google Play settings donât apply here. Maybe there was an update that got through as I was blocking the urls in the router.
The work around for now is to download the apps I need on the good devices or Windows from the Tool Box and use a USB stick to make them available on the devices with the 403 error. The apps ran fine loading them manually. Just wanted to put this out there for anyone else seeing this.
Cheers.
Did you uninstall updates for Google Play and try updating again?
Hello @Dbltap I think the Amazon Fire TV devices still use WebView since FireOS is based on Android. Hereâs what I think is happening on Fire TV devices experiencing this. If you are on a fairly old FireOS and you block updates, WebView wonât update so thatâs the reason for the 403 Forbidden error. Have you tried uninstalling/reinstalling Downloader app?
