what apps are not downloading
TV Bro also gets the 403 Forbidden ![]()
The TROYPOINT Toolbox allows you to install free streaming apps and tools that you canāt find in the Amazon App Store or Google Play store.
Just tested by downloading a few apps and it works, however I donāt have a Shield.
I let the play store auto-update my apps while keeping play-protect off.
Edit: I also couldnāt get the mx player to download from toolbox, but could from play store.
I have just bought a FS 4K max and want to do the fix to prevent amazon updates but have hit a problem. I have got developer options set up, and can down load Downloader from the AFTNews site.
On entering the code ( or even entering the troy pint tool box manually) I get a pop up Web page not available. the web page at https://troypoint.com/troypoint-toolbo? could not be loaded because: net ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED. Can anyone help, do not want to reboot FS just in case I get the new patch!!! Any ideas?
I also get 403 Forbidden when trying to load the Tool Box on Android box. Rebooted router, dumped cash.
Like others, one of my 2 TVās has an issue with Downloader and the dreaded 403 Forbidden error.
The box is a MECOOL KM2
I have tried pointing Surfshark to a different location
I have tried truning Surfshark OFF
I have used TDUK to shut down apps not on the whitelist
I have used TDUK to clear all cache
I have deleted Downloader and reinstalled
I have rebooted the MECOOL KM2 box
I have rebooted the router - no dice
What is confusing is that my other TV on a MECOOL KM2+ Deluxe works fine. Both TVās are on the same network/router. I am open to thoughts on how to resolve this pain in the butt!
Hi. When I type in downloader Troypoint
it says forbidden. ( I put the correct info). I had to format my Nvidia Shield because apps werenāt working.
try this 250931
As DaveZerf says, use this Downloader code instead of an address in the downloader box.
The problem is solved. They forgot to redo the app permissions after the factory reset. Solved in another thread this was posted to.
Hi Miki. I am still experiencing the error on one of my two TVās. You indicate that āTheyā forgot to redo the app permissions. Not sure who āTheyā are, but I searched for info in other threads but couldnāt find what you were referring to. Was this an update to Downloader? I have already deleted and reinstalled Downloader (after clearing cache), but still get the error. Any info that you could provide would be appreciated, as I am almost to the point of resetting the box to default and then needing to rebuild it. Thanks in advance for your sage advice.
No. Someone else did a factory reset on their device and forgot to update the downloader app permissions. Once they did it, all was good.
I didnāt do a factory reset (yet) but I will check the app permissions. Hopefully I can resolve the issue with permissions. A factory reset and rebuild is a PITA. Thanks for your input.
Sure hope someone has discovered a fix for this &%*$# 403-Forbidden error. I have reset my KM2 to factory level and painfully restored all the apps. Unfortunately it has been an exercise in futility. Everything works as expected, except when I open Downloader and try to load the TP Toolbox (tried both the address and the quick code. As I couldnāt easily get to the toolbox to load some apps, I tried the quick codes for things like Monitor Dot and ES File Explorer. They load and allow me to download the app. Apparently the only issue is with the TP Toolbox. I have tried clearing cache, deleting the app and reinstalling, but absolutely nothing works. Any folks out there that have found a cure for this issue. Thanks in advance for any help.
I am setting up a new budget box and had the same error yesterday. I was at a loss. But today it started working. I wish I could be more help.
I personally know the frustrations that you are going through.
Apologies if this has been suggested before or if you have tried getting the Toolbox with your VPN off?
Thanks for the suggestion Jerry. Just tried it and no change after downloading with Surfshartk turned off. As I indicated previously, the shortcut codes work for other apps, itās just the TP Toolbox that returns the 403 error. Again, I appreciate the suggestion.
Now Iām no expert but maybe try āTV Broā browser. Iāve never really dove into using this browser app. But itās listed as an alternative to the Downloader app. Hopefully someone can jump in and help you with this app. Iāve looked at it in the past but wasnāt certain how to use it. I did find a Youtube posting on how to use it but I could barely understand the guyās accent.
Another idea is this tutorial that troy did several years back about JioPages. I donāt know if this still relevant butā¦
Thanks Jerry, Iāll give it a try,
I downloaded TVBro browser, and then went to the address bar and entered āTROYPOINT Toolbox but still get blocked. This issue is most bizzare, as I have another TV running the same brand android box, connected to the same router, and I can use Downloader to access the TP Toolbox with no issues. I have rebooted the router, cleared cache, deleted the Downloader app and cleared cache, then reloaded the app and still the same issue. I have even reset the MECOOL KM2 to factory defaults, reloaded all apps and still the same behavior.
Bottom line is that I can work around this by getting the apps that I would normally download via the Troypoint Toolbox by entering their specific quick codes. So Downloader functions in that manner, just canāt do it via the Toolbox. I keep listening for the theme music to the Twilight Zone. ![]()
