Once you have collected a hundred shows, you are then cut off and will have to pay for trakt if you want to collect more, I only have about 80 shows in my collection but was cut off because I have reach my limit of 100 I can no longer add any shows to any list, you can still use the list you already have. When I checked the cost for trakt it was around $80. Canadian a year, This seems to be very high price for this service. Just wondering if others had this problem and what other similar service there is, I tried slowly but it only shows your trakt list on your phone or tablet you can not add shows to collections or watchlist. I liked trakt but not sure if it’s worth the high price
Some use this instead. Not sure how well it works as haven’t tried it yet. Anyone have experience with this?
Just curious what “Collected” does. I have watched tons of movies and tv shows and my account shows 0 Collected but recognizes all of what i watched. I use Kodi exclusively.
Are you saving these to your trakt account?
I use trakt collection that makes me a list of things I want to watch later. If I find a show or movie I like I will have trakt find similar ones and I put the similar shows under collection category
Ok. I never used Trakt that way. Only to keep my tv show episodes in order. I rarely use it for movies but it keeps a record anyway.
But why would they care if you have 100 or 500 in a collection list? If its only a list and not using any real storage of episodes.
I think it’s because a lot more users now use Trakt and they have server costs to track all users lists, watched content and metadata.
The scrobbling and tracking of content is second to none imo and free.
You get 100 items in watchlist and 100
items in collections free.
If you happen to fill your watchlist then you could use collection.
If you fill that then you could setup
TMDB lists and they can be used in some Kodi add-ons.
Not sure what android VOD apps have the ability to use TMDB personal lists as I don’t really use them anymore as Kodi me for has no issues unlike some cons on other VOD apps.
TMDB doesn’t have tracking like Trakt.
Not tried SIMKL as Trakt covers what I need on the free plan.
You collect a movie or show when you add it to a list on trakt, I add mine to list called my TV shows, when you find a show you like you long press remote a list comes up add to trakt then you pick a list to add it to
WOW if you don’t use the “Collection” functionality not sure how you really use Trakt? That’s 100% how I use it. I add Shows or Movies to my Collection. Then when I open a KODI Addon I go to “My Shows” or “My Movies” and everything is there. When I have completely finished a TV Series I remove it from my Collection. Usually never have more than 20-30 shows in my que so the 100 Max will never be an issue for me
Good morning @MarkxG . I am using umbrella with debrid and I have been adding my shows and movies to the library and then when I want to watch them they are devided into the shows and movies sections. Is that any different than “collections” or are they pretty much the same thing?
The build i use has a Trakt section. It populates all the shows i am watching. I dont have to add anything it already knows. So i guess it only needs to show as watching on the trakt site.
Hey GM @Miki . Sounds like “Library” works the same as “Collections” I’ve never used library only collections so not sure how that works. I was a member of the Premium Trakt for a year a while back (No real value IMO) and the snobs on their forum told me I was 100% wrong using Collection and I should be using “Watchlists”. LOL Whatever works for you is what I say.. Collection has work for me since Day 1 so that is what I continue to use. Stream ON!
Tx for the reply Mark. I love trakt and got it after your insistence the last time I tried Kodi. No regrets for sure. I’m going to try adding to collections and watchlists and see what happens. Again tx for the comeback.
I never use collection really other than for content I might rewatch.
I use watchlist and when I start watching content from watchlist it is removed from watchlist and it appears in In Progress and Next episode and Trakt calendar.
When the content ends it disappears from In progress and Next episode and the Trakt calendar until a new season returns if there is going to be one.
That is how Trakt is designed to work.
Collection if for content you wish to keep to rewatch.
Personal lists is for a similar reason but for content you may potentially watch also.
You have to be careful because if you use the add-on to track content instead of Trakt. Your content won’t be tracked across different add-on and other android VOD apps you use.
This is why Trakt is the best option to track your content across add-ons and apps if you use different ones.
As far as I know I have trakt set to track content. I think. Lol.
I am in the trakt management tools now and on the watchlist manager-shows. Just have to figure out how to load my library to it now.
If you have Trakt set to track and are logged in on the add-on then your content will tracked across other apps that you use Trakt on.
Yup that’s what I’ve done. Just no idea how to load the lists from the library to watchlist.
Ok think I got that figured. I just go to collection, long press on any show in my list, click on the yellow(well yellow for me) Trakt Manager and then Add item to your watchlist. Love this kodi, so many things to click on and see what it does.
Yes, I think it is a little confusing between watchlist, personal lists, and collections.
There is a detailed discussion on the Trakt forum here:
Óoooooo, cool. Tx @MNBob much appreciated. I have all the stuff in tools>library but don’t see a way to move them to watchlist
Yes any once you have watched one episode from content in your watchlist it will appear in Trakt shows In progress and also the next episode will appear in Trakt Next episode and Trakt calendar.
The Trakt features in Kodi addons are pretty good.
